Deadly RobotsMemberThis one seems like a no-brainer. It has a fantastic guitar solo, and the vocals seem like they’d be a lot of fun.
My personal feeling is that the version of the theme should be the end credits theme used during Series III, with the guitar solo from the show’s intro sequence edited into that somewhere; a sort-of Frankenstein’d “extended mix” of the two versions, if you like.
Or, y’know, have the intro and outro as separate tracks. That works too.
Thoughts?

coolfelineMemberI volunteer but remember I suck at charting drums so if you make another custom drums are out of my league.

Deadly RobotsMemberI will happily help with playtesting, but beyond that not much I can do, sadly.
Also, if it’s of any use, I know that there are at least two separate and distinct recorded versions of the theme used in the show’s end credits (not including the Elvis version from “Waxworld” or the organ version from the end of “Dimension Jump”) and while the differences are subtle they are noticeable.
The most commonly used version is the one heard in Series I, II, and most of IV onwards. THere’s a re-recorded version of the theme used for series III and occasional episodes in IV and V, the distinguishing features of which are a more prominent tambourine and slightly different vocals (this version was most likely recorded at the same time as the new intro theme used from III onwards).
If you have any of the first eight series on DVD, and you don’t have the “Just the Shows”, the Anniversary Collection or the vanilla releases, then the bonus disc for each season does include separated music cues including the intro and outro themes, BUT they only ever use that first recording of the closing theme.
There’s also two extended-length versions of the theme which can be found on YouTube, one of which was recorded by Red Dwarf star Danny John-Jules as the b-side for his single release of “Tongue Tied”. Neither of these are particularly popular with the fans.

EdTanguyParticipantI’m a huge fan of Red Dwarf, and would have done the theme years ago, i just thought it wasn’t long enough, and if i added the series 1 and 2 intro extension then it would be boring.. however, there are a few tunes on the bonus disc music cues of… III and IV, that if i find out how to get out as a separate file then i will chart them immediately..

Deadly RobotsMemberOoh, I hope so. I gave EdTanguy a bunch of OGGs for a number of songs from the show about a month ago. I’m still keeping my fingers crossed.
