April 15, 2014 at 3:16 pm #390233***4/4 EDIT***
Unfortunately it turns out that we do have two updates to make regarding this wave of re licensing after all.
Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” will be coming out of the DLC store on 4/30. We know, definitely a bummer. But on the other hand, literally everyone in the world should already own this song! It’s one of the most popular tracks in RB, and is absolutely essential in an RB party setting. And it’s only $1. And remember, if you’ve already bought “Don’t Stop Believing” then you won’t be affected by this change at all.
Additionally, after 5 years of availability the 20 Free DLC offer from Rock Band 2 has expired, and the redemption page is no longer live. As with other previously purchased / downloaded content, if you already have these tracks then nothing changes for you.
April 15, 2014 at 3:53 pm #417950AnonymousI don’t have “Don’t Stop Believing” yet! Crap.
Gonna need to get onto Xbox online via computer and hopefully get said song quickly…
Been meaning to get it but rarely am on Xbox Live, due to the dreaded dial-up devil.
April 15, 2014 at 4:07 pm #417953I don’t believe you can buy DLC on Xbox.com anymore. Once they switched away from MSP, you can only buy stuff on the Xbox.
April 15, 2014 at 4:31 pm #417955AnonymousYou can.
Last time I bought stuff, I actually was on Xbox.com doing it while it downloads to my Xbox, which was connected to Xbox Live at the time. (Was at a friends’ place). Reason being, they updated all that stuff and had to do all sort of crap which was faster to do on the computer and thusly ended up just getting the stuff on Xbox.com and letting them be downloaded.
I also went to Xbox.com a month ago to get the Anniversary Map Pack for Halo Reach (I already “bought it”, technically, just gotta redownload it so I went to it on Xbox.com and hit download for it).
So it should be possible to get the DLC on Xbox.com and download later onto my Xbox when I can.
April 15, 2014 at 4:51 pm #417960Yeah, you can definitely still buy and download to the 360 from the website. You just need to have a credit card associated with your account.
April 15, 2014 at 5:55 pm #417964Yeah, I’m not shocked at all about the Journey song going away. HMX seems to have had a falling out with them, I assume because of the mega sales from Don’t Stop Believing and Journey thinking they should be paid more because of that.
It’s too bad, since I really wanted more from Journey. Luckily, we have customs now. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

April 15, 2014 at 6:29 pm #417968im one of the few people who hasnt bought DSB yet… i dont even like journey, but i might as well buy itPersonal opinion — No huge loss. I’ve heard it played way too many times, by people who definitely don’t do it justice. I was more bummed that Any Way You Want It didn’t export (and subsequently really happy that it magically found its way back into my library).
Then again, I’m the fun police, who thinks random people appreciate song diversity like I do. And big crowds seem to enjoy singing along to it, so I’m the weirdo.

April 15, 2014 at 7:33 pm #417977AnonymousI normally redeem codes I get for free or it comes with a game I bought.
Though, RB3 DLC wise, the only DLCs I got totally for free was a code for like 5-6 songs by Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
May 19, 2014 at 2:48 pm #420604***5/14 EDIT***There’s another late edition to this re licensing update, as we got word that another track has to come down from the store.
“Get Up (I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine – Pt 1” by James Brown, and the associated Get The Funk Out Pack 01 will come down from the store by 5/30. Keep in mind that we don’t control when first party updates their store, so they may pull before that time depending on when they usually update content.
We’ll follow up with additional updates if anything else comes up.
May 19, 2014 at 2:53 pm #420606Such a shame. This loss of funk needs to be remedied.
