Full disclosure: none of these songs are anniversary or birthday themed.

Here are hints for some (but not all) of this week’s tracks. Can’t spoil them all!

• While there may not be any gold at the end of this rainbow, we’d reckon you’ll find a pretty good song instead.
• A snippet of this late 90s dance/pop song was remixed/sampled in a previous C3 release.
• While the title of this track may have held true for the artists that originally recorded it, that was not the case for the ex-husband of the artist who would cover it and turn it into her debut #1 single.
• One of the more popular pop tracks of the past five years, I personally can’t stand this song and would trade it all for some waffles and a side of kiwi.
• This song won’t take you two hundred hours to complete like the game that shares its name, but it is just as epic. And it’ll run just fine on PS3.
• With all the spying stuff in the last year, this song is eerily appropriate, even if it was directed towards Bush and not Obama.
• Last year, we put out a couple of songs by this band that were surprisingly well-received by our users. The fact that they performed above our expectations was enough to tell us that we had a passionate subset of fans who adored them in our community, and showed us that there was no harm in releasing popular acts even within genres that we would have expected to be ‘less popular’ in Rock Band. After a lot of internal debate on whether or not to release more from artists of this size or scope, we did eventually decide to pepper the odd release of this size in our schedule, particular from artists that were not previously represented or were extremely underrepresented in official or custom content. A number of the singles from 2014 espouse this philosophy, and giving a not infrequent nod to artists of this calibre will be something we continue to do as we move into our second year, so I hope you are all looking forward to seeing them as much as I am — and thanks, as always, for all your support!
