I just upgraded my Reaper from v3.78 to v4.22. Loaded a couple of projects that were created in the old version and my audio is out of synch. Everything lines up graphically, notes to peaks, but the audio starts approx. 1/16 note early. Any suggestions?
Note: tried the new “create drums animations” generator and it worked beautifully on a 4/4 time sig.

Auto drums animations work well in any kind of time, TS are a factor only in reductions.
March 24, 2014 at 1:15 pm #416130Tons of stuff changed between 3.78 and 4.x, especially the newest 4.x, so it’ll be hard to pin down the issue. If the peaks line up the same way they did in 3.78, it sounds like it might be an audio driver thing. Try searching on the Cockos forums, I guess? ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif”>
March 24, 2014 at 6:17 pm #416163I figured as much. The only reason I upgraded was to try the automation tool. The little bit of testing I did was really cool. For now I went back to 3.78 and will wait for the automation tool to come out of beta. Very cool tool though. Thanks.
March 25, 2014 at 12:11 am #416201I’ve been using Reaper 3.78 ever since I started mainly because pksage used it in his authoring video. I’m kinda worried to get a newer version because I’m so used to this version now. Is it really worth it to upgrade? I’m not sure what features I would be missing out on.
March 25, 2014 at 12:57 am #416212Using 3.78 for the same reason. I tried 4.22 for the new automation tools which are very cool. It would be so easy to add animations and reductions to my previous charts. I only used the new one for an afternoon so I can’t comment if its worth it. When I get more time I will search the Cockos forums for a solution to my specific problem. If I do I will upgrade.

March 25, 2014 at 1:21 am #416222I didn’t have the ReaScript showing in my plugins?

Just look at how convenient this is for checking over reductions:
No need to scroll up and down the page!
It’s great for Pro Keys too, since you can really easily see where the lane shifts are and how they line up with the chart, check for missing glissando markers, etc:

I guess its time to check out 4.x
April 18, 2014 at 1:36 am #418120I was having this same issue. Did have 3.78, but upgraded to 4.22 to use the CAT tools. I only used 4.22 a couple of times to do reductions and animations on a couple of songs, then I took a break. Started working on a song yesterday, and found it to have the out of sync problem (1/16 ahead in the RBN preview). Tried uninstalling 4.22 and installing 3.78, but that did not help. Ended up having to uninstall Reaper, then deleted the Reaper folders in Program Files, and User/Appdata/Roaming. Now it seems to work again. I guess ill stick to 3.78 for the time being.
