July 12, 2013 at 2:39 pm #402964Because you can never have enough brony songs, and there’s no shame in that.
Also, it’s about time we got ourselves some more country and new wave. Nice hits!
July 12, 2013 at 6:07 pm #402968Great work on the Shania Twain song! It’s always good to get to play a song that you would have charted sooner or later yourself but then not have to chart it.
July 12, 2013 at 7:40 pm #402970Somewhat off-topic: why were the previews uploaded to DailyMotion instead of YT this time?

July 13, 2013 at 1:25 am #402980I helped Lyoko chart Trixie, Breaking Bonds and Twilight Sparkle You’re My Reason to Live, could I get partial credit on the announcement and song database pretty please? (I did guitar and vocals for Trixie and TSYMRtL, and Keys and various vocal fixes on Breaking Bonds)
July 13, 2013 at 5:20 am #402982This week plus the 7-11 song for Wii.
If anyone even plays these, I think the pony songs could still stutter. There are a bunch of tracks I didn’t even merge. They are reduced in quality though.
One of the songs had “farr” instead of the regular “far” appendage, so I changed it whether it was a mistake or not.
July 13, 2013 at 1:36 pm #402991I helped Lyoko chart Trixie, Breaking Bonds and Twilight Sparkle You’re My Reason to Live, could I get partial credit on the announcement and song database pretty please? (I did guitar and vocals for Trixie and TSYMRtL, and Keys and various vocal fixes on Breaking Bonds)Mentioned it, was noted but I think it was overlooked in prepping the mats, so we’ll get it sorted out.
I’m discussing how we want to list the PRP songs in the DB (authors or under a generic header like GHtoRB3), but we can definitely do it in the announcement etc. either way. I want to wait to make the change until it’s uniform across everything so we don’t forget. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif”>

(I did guitar and vocals for Trixie and TSYMRtL, and Keys and various vocal fixes on Breaking Bonds)I’m sorry, this is totally my fault. Lyoko mentioned it in the song notes and I just spaced out. As of yesterday, the appropriate songs are officially credited to “LyokoFreaks and Nightmare Lyre” in all places.
July 15, 2013 at 4:33 pm #403063No worries, and thanks for the fix
July 18, 2013 at 1:38 pm #403191I was wondering: Do you guys get many downloads? Are the songs downloaded more than you anticipated or less?
July 18, 2013 at 2:18 pm #403192I was wondering: Do you guys get many downloads? Are the songs downloaded more than you anticipated or less?# of downloads is off limits. Personally, I find a lot of the download numbers surprising. Some FtV songs have largely outperformed new releases, in example, and while, yes, those are polished releases, I personally wouldn’t have imagined they could outperform regular releases. Another thing is the popularity of a song. Remember when Harmonix kept saying that famous artists, like Lady Gaga and Nickelback, were sure sellers, and people on the forums complained because “nobody wants to play those”? Well, famous artists and songs are definitely winners.
Also, one thing I’ve personally found is that blog and forum comments are rarely related to how well a song performs. Some songs elicit a lot of passion from our community but that doesn’t mean a lot of people will download them.
July 18, 2013 at 2:28 pm #403193I will add that the tracks are downloaded at around the level I initially anticipated based on my own custom songs’ performance in the past and the nature of this venture, and echo Farottone’s comments about popularity — the songs, relative to each other, perform as I would expect based on the qualities of the track (fun factor, recognition, difficulty).
July 18, 2013 at 6:55 pm #403199I understand about not revealing the number of downloads (although I’d love to know) but could we get relative standings of popularity? For example, did people download Huey more or Shania more?
I’m not making full customs for myself. If I were I’d be charting just Guitar and Bass X Only and churn out 3-5 personal songs a week. The songs I choose to chart for C3 are based on a combination of what I want to play and what others want to or will play. I get satisfaction knowing others are playing the songs I make.
July 18, 2013 at 7:11 pm #403200For example, did people download Huey more or Shania more?We can’t share number of downloads for a variety of reasons. Maybe we can come up with a ranking system or something that sorts the files in most downloaded or something like that without actually showing any download numbers. You’ll have to sweet talk farottone for that and I don’t know if he can/wants to do something like that.
For now, i’ll tell you that the Huey Lewis song has been downloaded a bit more than 2x times what the Shania Twain song has been downloaded. (I hope I don’t get whipped for this! )
