I have a custom right now that sounds perfectly fine in Reaper (as an mp3) but when I try to render it as a wav it suffers horrible clipping. I’ve been changing volume levels in Reaper for days now and no matter what I try it has no effect. What’s the best way to normalise an overly-loud track, in Reaper or Audacity or similar? It’s a single-track custom so all the song audio is in the one file.

It would be good if this forum had a Q&A thread for these types of questions. I often have little questions like this and sometimes they don’t really need a whole thread of their own.

I think it’s fine for them to have their own threads. Makes it easier to fly through topic titles vs. sifting through a ten page thread looking to see if your question has been answered. Also makes it easier if we wanted to index an FAQ or something.
