Hi folks!
You may have noticed this morning that our forums underwent a little bit of restructuring. Owing to the volume of traffic on the boards (higher than we expected, not that we’re complaining!), our initial condensed layout was leading to some issues of the “where do I post this topic”-type that we wanted to get sorted out.
As such, I went through the boards and did some minor restructuring/re-arrangement to get a layout that should hopefully be a more accurate (if not exact) fit for what we need. Essentially, the forum layout is now broken into a handful of categories:
Customs Conversations
Boards in this category are focused on the end user perspective of the customs process. This includes discussion of C3 releases, non-C3 releases (which can include other projects by C3 authors, including stuff like GHtoRB3 and RB:HP which does release alongside C3), and a discussion forum for USE issues with customs (not loading, how to set up your drives, and the like).
Authoring Auditorium
Boards in this category are focused on the authoring perspective of the customs process. This includes authoring advice, help, and tools (official and user-created) as well as a place for you to show off works-in-progress and, of course, the song request forum (since it’s not and was never only intended for our use).
Everything Else
This is a broad category which is a catch-all for everything else. At this point in time it includes the General Discussion board, which is for all other discussion, and two C3-related boards: the announcement board, which you are currently on, and a site feedback/support board.
Sooper Seekrit C3 Authorz Category
This is a cate– haha, oh, you almost got me there. Oops.
Please note that I have attempted to move all threads over to their appropriate forums, but I may have missed some or moved some incorrectly, so feel free to yell at me if you find something. I am also extremely hopeful that I did not break anything else in creating the new boards, so yell at me if you need to fix that. Note also that moving threads has flagged them once again as unread — the quick fix is to scroll down to the bottom of the page on the board list and hit Mark forums read.
Thanks for your continued support!
December 19, 2013 at 9:47 pm #410904Having trouble finding the forum rules, what’s the deal with buying and selling here? The reason I ask is because there is a FB page in my local area for buying and selling and a lady has listed a GH band set, the problem is nobody in my area wants that stuff anymore, but I figured if anybody is looking for a GH drum kit or a couple of Les Pauls, I know where to get them cheap!

Oh I gotcha there, I was meaning more like if someone knows of a good deal somewhere local or whatnot, some people are needing to replace old equipment and someone is always looking for something, I don’t know if you’ve ever been to Docrockbandmods website, when they first started that site I was the mod for that section and it worked pretty well, they didn’t allow customs discussions there and I kind of drifted away from the site, IDK just some food for thought!
December 20, 2013 at 2:21 am #410931I was the “Gear Acquisition Specialist” at Docs for a while in charge of the “RockBand Gear & Supplies Locator” section located here.

As you can see there is a huge catalog of gear and parts there, this is more to what I was referring!
December 30, 2013 at 12:34 am #411363I’d be fine with a thread in General Discussion. Just don’t reveal any personal information like addresses or real names. Take all of that to PM.
December 30, 2013 at 10:55 am #411374w…. why not real names?
December 30, 2013 at 11:30 am #411376w…. why not real names?I think he means last names, sure their not worried too much about first names considering PK’s was in the video!
December 30, 2013 at 1:19 pm #411378But like… my real first and last name are my.. user name… I stopped using EWE/EWE1/GuitarHeroEWE years ago..
December 30, 2013 at 2:12 pm #411379But like… my real first and last name are my.. user name… I stopped using EWE/EWE1/GuitarHeroEWE years ago..Context is everything…
December 30, 2013 at 4:49 pm #411382Some people take Internet privacy more seriously than others, and it’s very important to respect that, hence “no personal information, up to and including real names”. If you want to share your name, that’s fine, but if you’re buying/selling stuff, make sure all of that information stays in PM.
December 30, 2013 at 4:58 pm #411384I won’t because i don’t need to, but i have before just posted my address and mobile number etc because why not? If someone the other side of the world wants to murder me, at least i’ll die happy knowing someone made all that effort flying over here just for me
The worst case scenario is that someone sends me a birthday present (june, hint hint) and it’s something i already have but i’m obliged to thank them and i might make it seems like i haven’t got it and i like it (which i probably do, seeing as i already have it)
December 30, 2013 at 5:07 pm #411386The worst case scenario isThat your identity gets stolen and $100,000 of child pornography videos are purchased in your name and the FBI busts your front door and arrests you. Sure you can explain it away later, but make sure you don’t have anything questionable because they will tear your computer apart before they realize that it wasn’t you.
Or a more realistic thing…Apple Studios decides to sue everyone who downloads customs of the The Beatles and you’re the first one to get named in the lawsuit since you made it all so easy.
In other words, just because you somehow (really?) can’t imagine something bad happening by posting your information online, it doesn’t mean something horrible can’t happen.
December 30, 2013 at 5:31 pm #411388tbh, that’d just give me something to do, and i’d label it under ‘shit happens’… i’m basically emotionally colourblind and i also just don’t think anyone would bother.. ah well, if it happens, it happens, and i’ll be more careful in the future
ps, sorry for the off topic, and hope you all have a wonderful new year ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_emot-3.gif” />
