This board is geared towards song requests for things you’d like to see in C3 releases.
Note that we’ve got a pretty big planned schedule, so we may not be able to honor many (or all) requests, but there’s always a chance you could get something that tickles someone’s fancy enough to have them pick it up and run with it. I want to make this clear from the onset — there are only so many of us, with so much time, and there’s a lot of stuff already in the pipe.
That being said, we’re also not the only people doing this sort of thing, so you might get a hit from another customs author who is interested in your request.
Our preference is to minimize the number of redundant threads, so, whenever possible, structure your requests around a specific genre or artist/band, and before posting a new thread, check to see if something exists. We’re not going to freak out about duplicate threads, but I can tell you that replies in a given thread echoing support for a given artist or song are more effective in getting us to notice them that having seven hundred different MOAR MUSE threads.
February 12, 2014 at 8:34 pm #413923DO NOT DISCUSS PAYMENT OR ANY KIND OF REAL-MONEY TRANSACTION ON THESE FORUMS. There are many reasons why, including the risk of exposing personal information and the risk of getting ripped off, and we don’t want to be involved in any of that. If we warn you about it and you ask again, we will IP ban you.
If you want to commission a custom from someone, do it outside of the C3 forums. Thanks!
August 28, 2014 at 12:47 am #428135I have seen a increase in people requesting full albums lately, and I would like to comment on that. We are not mad and you are not breaking any rules or anything, but I would like to say that you are doing yourself a disservice by requesting full albums.
Remember how the requests work: you are suggesting something you think would be fun to have in the game, and if someone sees your post and agrees, they might think about potentially adding it to their list of things to chart. Now, also remember that customs takes a lot of time and effort, and a single song usually takes 20-40 hours to complete.
Therefor, the chances of someone taking up a request to chart a full album is very close to zero, and you might set yourself up to disappointment by doing that.
However, if you really love a album, consider not requesting the entire thing, but rather request any song off of the album in your request thread. Making a list of songs you want, but don’t expect all of the songs in the list to be done, makes it much more likely somebody will see a song on that list they like and then chart it. We might be able to do A song off of, say, Absolution, but we won’t be able to do the full thing most likely in one go.
Thanks for your consideration and don’t feel afraid to request things still, just remember that we are only human and charting is hard ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />
February 15, 2015 at 6:00 pm #438441Please check if a song is available before requesting it
If it is or have been available from Harmonix then we won’t do it, if it’s already in the C3 database then we already did it. Check before making requests
Posts requesting material already available will from now on be deleted without warning. Please take the few seconds to check Youtube or Wikipedia or the C3 database to see if the song is already done to save both us and yourself the time.
Thanks in advance
July 30, 2015 at 12:11 am #451517Friendly reminder to please use already existing threads instead of creating new ones when requesting a song from a band. Use the search function to see if a thread already exists. Threads will be merged without warning when deemed redundant
Thanks in advance
August 1, 2015 at 6:59 pm #451810Another friendly reminder: If you are looking for a chart you know exists that isn’t a C3 release/official DLC and you just want it in the current state without necessarily asking for a C3 release of it, please search the Other Custom and WIP forums before requesting.
Thanks in advance
September 27, 2015 at 5:34 pm #456069As of today, requests are not going to be considered for C3 weekly releases because this Friday is going to be our last. You can still request songs to the community of authors in general of course.
February 22, 2016 at 9:28 pm #463943People keep requesting available songs, which is really disappointing. Checking if a song is available takes roughly 20 seconds. Authoring a song takes 12 hours. Anybody who is requesting a song that is already available is saying that they can’t be bothered to spend 20 seconds for something that it takes 12 hours to accomplish. Plus, if you really want to play a song, doesn’t it make sense that you look for a download link before you request it? For these reasons, requesting a song that’s already available will now result in a 7 days suspension. The length of the second suspension will be up to the admins. There will not be a third suspension. Again, if you want to play a song so badly that you’re willing to ask somebody to spend hours on it make sure you’re actually looking for it before requesting it.
May 7, 2016 at 10:28 am #468236Please don’t bump requests. Requests are very very rarely picked up and the fact that a thread has no replies is perfectly normal. You can add more information or content if you want, but if you bump your thread and clutter the forums we will remove the thread. Thank you.
