Has modern journalism just become posting other people’s online stories?

I’ve been feeling really frustrated with the state of news lately. More and more, I see what look like “investigative” articles that are just lightly rewritten versions of personal stories people post online, like on forums or complaint sites. I was just on a site and saw raw, unfiltered posts about work retaliation and roommate drama. It struck me that these personal vents are now often the primary source for news outlets. They add a bit of commentary and call it journalism. It feels lazy and exploitative. Am I the only one who thinks real reporting is disappearing, replaced by this content farming from people’s personal lives?
