Here is what it shows on the program. Building apps and bins show up properly, so I don’t really see where I’m going wrong with this.

Would love to have this figured by Thursday so I could have some new songs added. Crossing my fingers.

Also, as I stated before, I am completing this process (compiling songs) on a completely different computer, but I still am using the same SD from before. Basically, I had a working SD and upon moving I decided I wanted to add some new songs, so I redownloaded C3 and all the necessary files on this post and proceeded to compile songs as if I were to modify them on my old computer. The only issue is I needed to get a new ng_id and common key, so I assume it’s related to the ng_id. What I don’t understand is I did the same process as before, which is to get a random bin file from SZAE and convert it via C3 to get the ng_id file; I just don’t know if I picked the same song is all, but that doesn’t matter right?

RockBiink is one way. Get the latest version here.

Basically, if you can, you open the mogg file in Audacity and manually export the audio tracks according to what’s in the DTA. So if Guitar is stereo, you export the first track as “GuitarL.wav” and the second part as “GuitarR.wav”. Do that for all the tracks and drop them into RockBiink. You can even auto-update the DTA with RockBiink. You’ll want to make mono any tracks that are already mostly mono, like bass, vocals, or unimportant backing parts. It will make a bink file that you can use in place of the mogg file.

You could also convert to PhaseShift and let it merge the multitrack for you. Then you can split the ogg from the PhaseShift output and put that into RockBiink and make a bink file that you could use. Let me know if you’d like me to explain these in more detail.

I see. Is this the one you’re looking for? https://dl.c3universe.com/525a20135017c

That screenshot just shows it couldn’t delete the junk files, which is to be expected in sZGE. If it’s erasing your BIN files, there could be something wrong with the building process.

You could try running this tool to check to see if all your files are in there. What I think it could be is the ng_id. It won’t be reported as wrong, but if it’s not a match with what your console’s ID actually is, then I think files would get erased. If you’re not sure what it is, a NAND backup should produce this ID for you as well.

I see. I get the message “Add on content corrupted and could not be read from sd card” after resetting cache.

To get my ng_id, I simply did as the guide instructed and took a DLC song from my …private/wii/data/SZAE folder to the Wii Converter and got an 8 character file which I put into the SZGE folder.

    Hey there,

I’ve encountered a problem relating to packing my bins. I’ve currently been dealing with a housing situation and am forced to use a different computer to compile my songs. Upon downloading all the essentials from the Wii Custom’s guide and saving proper ng_id and common-key files, I continued the old process with using the RB3WiiPackTool and packdlc.bat.

One thing to note is that I am unsure if the ng_id I copied is the same one (from RB DLC) I had copied back in my old pc. I’m not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Upon executing packdlc, I get this, which I found odd.

However, the bins still show up in the folder, which brings me to the main problem.

After I transfer the bins and meta/song folders over to my SD and reset the cache remotely via /00010000/535a4245/data/MSTORE.VFF

…I boot the game and it loads my songs as usual, but it does not show my new tracks. Upon checking the SD I find out that both bins have been deleted. What’s going on?

Awesome! Can’t wait for that MK8 Summer 2018 Pack! Any ETA?

Holy hell, I downloaded your Snake Eater before but never realized how awesome this thread is. I’ve been dying for more video game music in my RB and it seems I’ve been sent to this paradise. That one random Disney track…haha, Im sure my friends are gonna appreciate your unique additions (especially the gals).

Apologies if requests come often to you, but I would be a mighty happy guy if you could chart some more jazz tracks from MGS like “Can’t Say Goodbye to Yesterday” or “Sea Breeze”. I enjoy your classy tastes. Either way, thanks for sharing with us your passion projects!

The in-game store in Rock Band 3 is still open.

RB2 DLCs are compatible with RB3, so it doesn’t matter. I think you can get ng_id from any wii game since this is your console id.

Thanks very much for the assistance. Im having trouble finding a common key though. I attempted to use ShowMeWads to generate one for me but got a .bin file with script I don’t understand.

There are free songs in the store, download at least one of them on your SD then place this SD in your computer, go into private folder, from here I don’t really know the structure since I don’t use the SD method but you should eventually find sZAE folder or something similar (sZAP, sZBE, etc) and grab one BIN file in there. Open C3 CON Tools, select wii converter and drop the BIN file in there (you might have to switch to merge mode? not sure), it should give you your ng_id.

I see. Is the store not closed for the wii players though? I thought they already cut us off. In which case, are you saying I should find out which DLC is free and try finding it in the C3 database?

Edit: I was able to use Rock Band 2 DLC.

Apologies if this is the incorrect thread to post, however, i did see a patch note regarding the use of ng_id.txt, which is the problem I am facing now. I am currently modding the wii to play rock band customs. I am unable to determine where to find a .bin file to use to extract the ng_id.txt. Is there a sample somewhere that I need to download?

    Hi there,

Im in a bit of a situation here…I don’t quite understand the portion where you mention the ng_id.txt. Where am I given access to a .bin file? Is there a sample somewhere in the folders that I can use? Im unclear as to where I would get “Official DLC”.
