Hey look, I’m back.
I’d like to contribute a song for week 2:
Weatherbox – “Dark All Night for Us”
oh i love this song. i might take a look at it tomorrow. any chance you’ll chart vanderlyle crybaby geeks as well?
Okay well I understand what you are saying. If you want, you can show me your version of the solo and we can work on it from there.
Could you tell me what you think is wrong with it?
I’m gonna be honest here and say I really don’t see anything wrong with it. I was going for accuracy rather than playability, and I even skimped on some parts here and there so there wouldn’t be just too many notes.
I downloaded the RPP I linked here, and opened it to see if it was the wrong one, and it wasn’t.
I also tried it on my PC and it looked exactly the same.
As for the CON, it’s the only file i have on my computer of the multitrack version. Is it possible that it could have become corrupt during the upload? Just a shot in the dark here.
Okay, I’m confused now. I went to fix the tempo map, and I didn’t see any scrunched measures at 89 or anywhere close. Then I went to actually play the CON on my xbox. As I thought, also no sync issues there. Any insight on this? I have no idea what went wrong tbh.
The extra tracks are because I use the default RBN2 template to chart, not the C3 template.
Also, I apologize about the tempo map error. I fixed the timing and some parts and even watched the charts in reaper before I compiled them. I’m not sure how that got through to the CON, but I’ll see about fixing it later.
Aw. Well alright then.

there’s the files. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to add it to the scheduler again, so i’ll just leave this here I suppose.
I’ll have the new version up in a few minutes. Don’t know how those errors got there, but they’ve been fixed.
OP updated with version 2. I’d still like a look at drums, since you can’t really hear some of the kicks I charted. I only put them there since it would be logical for them to be there.
Alright, I fixed those tubes and made those talkies pitched.
However, I’m gonna keep the lines on HARM3, since they are different singers, and I’d like for the game to recognize that by making a different band member sing.
I gave Drihschol some revisions in a PM and I thought I’d post them over here, just for the sake of information.
Okay, well the things I found wrong were mostly small things. With the chorus, I knew there were multiple guitars playing, but I figured it would be more engaging as chords since it sounds like chords more than 2 people playing single notes. Also on the bridge at M104, the high notes aren’t just straight 16ths, they go how I had them in my guitar chart. Also, I feel like they’re chords. They might not be, but I swear I can hear a second note playing.
Another thing: your wrapping in the verse seems awkward. I’d keep the sequence GRYBO instead of GYRBO like you have it. I know in the end of each verse it does the YBGYRY sequence, and I had the dilemma of making that work when I was charting too. I figured the least awkward way to author it would to have the main part of the verse charted as GRYBO and the second part could be authored how we both have it.
At M135.3 you’re missing an O note.
Starting M136, I feel that you put the first pattern in the wrong place, and it makes your wraps more awkward. It should by RYRG instead of BOBY to make the chart feel more like it’s scaling downwards. Do this for the rest of this section.
At 138.3 and 142.3 you under-charted those notes. It should go Y B YRY G instead of Y B Y R G
At 145.3, you should keep that as OBY instead of YRG for continuity’s sake. You can also change the YRY to OBO since they use the same notes.
At 149.3, do the same as mentioned previously. the pattern should go O B Y Y Y Y O B O
I know those last 3 notes are higher, but again, I feel like charting them differently makes them somewhat awkward to play. Also I say Y Y Y Y because that long note you charted sounds more like 4 single notes.
The slow part is riddled with small errors on all the instruments which would take a while to explain. I’ve already typed more than I’d like to as it is. (except for the vocals, I haven’t charted that far on vocals, and I figure there’s not much to get wrong)
I’d suggest just trashing that section in your chart and replacing it with mine as the note placements are more accurate, and you entirely missed some notes in your chart.
(Also, the drums are way off in that section. How did you not hear the ride?)
Now for drums:
At M20, I know that the greens sound like they are playing a thrash beat, but when I was charting, I figured that it was just interference with all the noise coming from the drums during recording. I would have charted it like you did, but when I looked up videos of people playing the song they all played it just like the rest of the intro.
I think the fills at M53 and everywhere else should just have 1 kick between the toms. I know that kicks that fast fit within authoring standards, but 2 is just a little harsh in my opinion.
M64: That’s a flam, not two notes.
M66: These last two things should by GB flams, not GK.
M69: That G should be B, since it’s a short crash.
M78: Same issue as intro.
M104 and everywhere else like this: There is no snare at the beginning of this pattern. It should be GK and not GRK.
M104.1.5: Missing a ride.
M120.1.5: Missing a kick.
M147.2: Missing a whole fill (lol)
M168: Refer to my previous complaint about this section.
M186: This is not a thrash beat. Should just be [GR] K …
Now, bass:
M13.3: That should be RY instead of OR
M15.3: ^
M71.3: ^
M73.3: ^
M139: I think these should be greens? I think?
M168: See previous complaint about this section.
M186.3: All of these things should be RY, I’m tired of typing “^”.
M192: That Y should be a G.
Other than that, bass is fine. You even picked up some stuff I missed!
Lastly, vocals:
At the minimum, you should chart pitch tubes to the accuracy of 32nd notes. 64th is what RBN authors use, but most people won’t notice an error of less than 1/32 when playing a song. 16ths are just too fat, to put it simply.
M106 and everywhere else like this in the bridge: If these weird spacey things aren’t vocals, they gotta be keys. It sounds too much like one of the two to be considered background noise and not be charted. If I were you, I’d chart them as vocals since having a keys chart with about 20 notes is pretty pointless if you can avoid it, which in this case, you can.
That’s just about all I can think of for now.

June 16, 2013 at 4:21 pm in reply to: [21.Jun.2013] Between the Burie… – “Telos” (LU: 11.Jun.13) #401483There’s been some testing on it already and I’d say it’s fine. the only things that haven’t been tested are the lower difficulties, which should be fine. also the venue is autogenerated, rather than custom.
if you feel like it’s ready to go, then take it.
