Try putting the customs (.bin files) in the folder “sZGE”

If you don’t have it, just create the folder. (Putting the customs in the folder “sZGE” is how I solved the same problem that you have)

    Hope this works for you <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />

So basically rename private/wii/data/sZFE to sZGE? And I guess change the file patch in the songs.dta?

Edit: That did the trick! Awesome. But now I am getting “The License for Add-on Content has been deleted from the Wii System Memory, to use the add-on content redownload Add-On content for which the license has been previously purchased”…

Just going from one error to annother :argh:

Edit2: Okay installed the sZGE wad with YAWMM and the songs show!!! But they “… cannot be restored to the Wii System Memory”. Do I need the sZFE wad as well??

    Thanks a lot!!

I now managed to convert my first batch of songs to .bin files and set everything up as you described in your post! Thanks for sending me there <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />

But I have run into the problem that Rockband 3 does not accept my SD-card it is a 32Gb SanDisk Micro SD with a SanDisk Adapter. It works fine with everything else, just when I start the game and it asks “Save add-on content on the SD Card?” it tells me that “The device insterted in the SD Card Slot cannot be used?” and that SD Card mode has not been enbaled.

Is that a known issue with certain cards or am I just unlucky and need another card?

Thanks for any suggestion and help!

Also formatted it a few times (exFat and Fat32) as I had all kind of stuff on it. So right now it’s only the apps folder. Tried it with an empty private/… folder.

And I formatted it without “Quick Format” (Found that somewhere online).

Okay figured out my mistake here. You have to load a specific version (56) into ios 249 to make it work.

Now RB loads from the SD card but it tells me that my dlc is “corrupted” and the bin files are being deleted (I am using disc and sd card here)

I have my Wii ID (from my BootMii NAND backup) and the common key (for wii from the internet and the forum). Any ideas what could still be wrong?

Just a random thought but SD cards usually have a locking mechanism, did you make sure the card is unlocked?

Yup did that. Also formatted it a few times (exFat and Fat32) as I had all kind of stuff on it. So right now it’s only the apps folder. Tried it with an empty private/… folder.

I can answer this one, at least. Neogamma will be your method of disc play for customs. I have a guide for setting this up from MUCH earlier in this topic: http://customscreators.com/index.php?/topic/14630-how-to-playing-customs-on-wii/?p=119551

Hey guys, thank you for all your work so far. I unfortunately wasn’t able to make custom songs work on Wii yet. I feel close to success but need a push in the right direction.

    This I managed to do:

    1. I managed to softwmod my wii
    2. made an iso copy of my gamedisc but I wasn’t able to start it..
    3. I managed to create a NAND with modmii but I am not sure if I was able to start it correctly from the homebrew chanel.
    4. I made a backup of my wii NAND
    5. Made a custom song with the instructions in the first pinned post.

And here a few questions I have:

    1. Is it possible to use custom songs when starting the game from the disc? (With the songs on the SD card)
    2. Do understand it correctly that if I have my wii-id and the common-key that I only need to load the customs to the SDcard to play the customs or is a specific version of the wii system necessary (I read IOS 249 somewhere)
    3. Would you suggest using a full NAND system with the game on an USB-Stick and the songs on an sd-Card?
    4. Also is my common-key correct (because if it isn’t I don’t need to find out my wii-id as I could not buy any dlcs anymore): ëä*”^…“äHÙÅEsª÷

Unfortunately a lot of the old tutorials don’t work anymore as the links are dead or the wii has been updated. So maybe something in the rest of the process is messing it up?

Thanks a lot for your help!
