Oh man, I never thought I’d see Cui Jian in Rock Band. September can’t come soon enough…
Thank you so much to everyone who donated, and thank you to all the authors who worked with me on this project! I had a great time contributing (plus it actually got me off my butt and authoring again ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />), and I’d love to participate in a second C3thon.

Rapper’s Delight pack
by SamyazaThe Sugarhill Gang – Rapper’s Delight
Can’t really call it a “Rapper’s Delight” pack without Rapper’s Delight, can I? It may not have been the first rap song, but it was definitely the first commerically successful one. This is the album edit, not the more famous 15-minute version… which means we miss out on Wonder Mike’s hilarious verse about eating crappy food at a friend’s house, but also means we don’t have to hear about Big Bank Hank’s “super sperm”, so it’s kind of a wash.
Thanks to Rocker1999 for doing 5-lane and Pro Keys!
Geto Boys – Mind Playing Tricks on Me
Unfortunately, this year Halloween did not fall on a weekend.
A horrorcore and southern rap classic, this tale of paranoia and depression is arguably the Geto Boys’ best known song. Hope you enjoy the venue, I had a lot of fun making it ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Dr. Dre – Nuthin’ But a “G” Thang
The song that arguably created G-Funk, and the song that introduced us to Snoop Dogg. Considered a hip-hop classic and an iconic 90s song by listeners and critics alike… and it lost the ’94 Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group to a Digable Planets song. Somehow.
“I don’t hate all police, and everybody knows that, it’s just a matter of certain ones that are police for the wrong reasons. I was talking to a friend of mine this morning, a young lady, and she wants to get into law enforcement. She said, ‘I know you don’t want to hear that,’ but I’m like ‘Well, it’s not that. I know you want to do the right thing, you want to help people, and that’s cool. But once you get in there, you’ll see all the corruption that’s inside that particular brotherhood of police. There’s somebody in there that gets high or, you know, somebody who’s in there that’s shot somebody, while you’re steadily putting people in jail. Then you’re going to be more of a criminal than anybody on the street.'”
– Ice-TIronic how Ice-T is best known for this song and for playing a cop on Law & Order: SVU, huh? Fun fact: this is the only song in this pack (and the only song I’ve authored, other than The Blarney Stone) to have a Big Rock Ending.
Band Hero’s mostly converted (outside the DS version, which I don’t think anyone’s started on yet)… only 5 songs from the home console versions aren’t playable in Rock Band in some way. Now it’s 4 ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />

Ah, middle school. The heyday of crappy ringtone rap one-hit wonders… like these guys, with their ode to candy and creeping on strippers. Perfect fit for Rock Band, right? At least it’ll be fun for parties. (I hope.)
Yeah, I only did this because it’s part of my DJR2RB3 (Def Jam: Rapstar to Rock Band 3) project he namedrops C3 at the end. (Okay, a different C3, but still.) At least it’s not something off Rebirth, right?
This song’s primarily a remix of Gucci Mane’s song “El Chapo”, with the second half of the lyrics taken from his and Young Scooter’s song “Faces”.

Eternity
by Samyaza“jesus christ the guy from deep purple sang this”
– CBoyardee
Who would have thought a JRPG would have a speed metal boss theme? With Ian Gillan singing the lyrics, no less?
Thanks to MrPrezident for authoring the vocals!
Song count so far: 111
The next author up at December 3rd, 2PM EST-20:00 CET is Whizzer, with a song from the queens of 70s rock.

Shakunetsu Beach Side Bunny
by SamyazaDJ Mass MAD Izm* – Shakunetsu Beach Side Bunny
There’s a surprising lack of Bemani music in Rock Band (one of these days I’m gonna finish that RED ZONE/Butterfly/Boom Boom Dollar 3-pack…), so here’s beatmania IIDX 18 Resort Anthem’s One More Extra Stage. It’s infamous in its home series for having loads of turntable notes (more than 1/3 of them on the hardest difficulty!) and now you get to try and replicate them on a plastic guitar.
Guitar: You play the scratches, and they’re relentless. All over the place, mostly 16ths with a couple of 32nd runs… have fun.
Bass: It’s mostly just a simplified version of the Keys chart. Not hard, but pretty fun.
Drums: Lots of quick hi-hat runs with off-beat kicks thrown in. The only difference between 1x and 2x is halved kicks in one section near the beginning.
Vocals: Mostly just shouts of “Yo!” and “Hey!”, but there are two pretty fun percussion sections.
Keys: Lots of chords… and some extremely fast strings of notes. Hammer those keys!
Thanks to atupomaruru and TheWay123 for advice on the Keys chart!
Song count so far: 64

Oh man, this takes me back. +1 to The Bagel Song, Tomorrow I’ll, and Big Beat Mario- and I’d also like to mention a couple more:
On a more serious note, I do remember ye olde C3 Show Floor having a “bounty board” system with a list of generally popular songs, but that subforum’s no longer accessible and I don’t remember anything about how that actually worked aside from being a list.
It’s actually still on the wiki. The forum link’s broken, though.
Couple more:
Fun fact: If we subtract the HMX-authored songs, and assume each chart took 12 hours worth of work to do, it took about 564 hours worth of work to author all of these.
Congrats on getting through Phase 1!
EDIT: Whoops, just realized this is more than a week late. Make that belated congrats, then.
Nthing Blinded by the Light, and adding Scarface (Push it to the Limit). I’m surprised it wasn’t in one of the At the Movies packs back when C3 was still releasing songs.

Yeah, that makes sense.
I think it happens when I clear my cache, actually. I’ll try not doing that for a couple days and see if it still happens.
We definitely need more MegaTen customs. +1
First draft of Mom’s Spaghetti is up. I just need to polish the vocals a bit, add bass and harmonies, and do a venue. Thanks again to funkydunkleman for letting me use their Lose Yourself chart as a base!
robocop’s probably ready to go, but I’m looking for feedback on a couple things:
1. The venue. It’s the first one I ever authored by hand- does it look OK?
2. Keys. It seems like there’s something playing every 8th note, but only some of them are stressed. Maybe. It’s hard to tell. Is it good as is, or should I go back and add more notes?
