Alright so that’s all I had to do – in the 360’s System Settings there was an auto-downloads function turned on. I never saw the need to disable it, but that’s all I had to do in order to be given a choice to both back out of an update as well as pick a storage location.
Sucks I’ll have to select it each time, but oh well. Thanks for the help!
Under settings somewhere on dashboard there was a feature that was added on latest dash regarding updates disconnecting from live etc can’t exactly remember what the option was as i only play 360 at my mates now but check for this and change it to the opposite option and it will workInteresting, I will look into this.
Regarding TU4 vs TU5 sticks, I may not fully understand – if I have a stick with TU5 (I don’t really need it since I’m getting into customs), does that trick the xbox into thinking that I have the TU5 updated somewhere so that it doesn’t attempt to force-install? Or is my Xbox rare in that it’s behaving as described above.
I definitely appreciate all the feedback and particularly the forum posts. I’d been dicking around with customs for a month or two now and while getting it to work was always sporadic the most frustrating part was scouring through the internet and this forum looking for the latest and correct method now that Party Buffalo appears to be out of the picture. So thanks, gents/ladies!
3. Plug your flash drive back into your 360, turn it on, and enjoy playing Rock Band 3 custom songs ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />If you are still connected to the internet it will tell you an update is required for Rock Band 3. Just press B or select “Cancel”.
Ok, so I’ve followed the instructions (twice) to the T, and selecting B or cancel here just backs the game out and I land at the 360 dashboard. What gives? I haven’t tried yet unplugging the network or something like that, but I’d rather not TBH since I still use the xbox for other things.
The update is of course for TU5. I’ve tried letting it complete, going back to the storage dash, and moving it over to USB just to manually delete it on the PC just as the original instructions thought… no dice.
