mortarion42MemberYou saying the post is up to date? Cause Seether is in the DB. Just needs vocals pitched.
Oh you’re totally right!! Don’t know how I missed that. I’ll get with Sygenesis to see if we can collab on the vocals! Woot for having to do less work!

mortarion42MemberFinally updated my WIP thread! See OP for list. I will endeavour to keep this up to date now that I’m spending a lot more time authoring.

mortarion42MemberGood morning all! Here is a cautionary tale about the dangers of strolling on the beach.
Bad Lip Reading’s YouTube channel has exploded in popularity over the last few years, with their Star Wars videos being the most popular. Who knew they were also excellent song writers?
Arguably the catchiest of all the Bad Lip Reading songs, “Seagulls! (Stop It Now)” has a really catchy bassline, along with fun harmonies and sections for all three singers. The drums are essentially just hand claps and kicks, but it’s still got a great beat.
If you haven’t seen the video yet, I recommend watching it first:
As always, let me know if there are any errors. Have fun!

mortarion42MemberOK, so suggestions. Buckle up. I would play the heck out of any of these.
Holy crap does our country have some great music or what?
Some of the ones on your list are already in progress by our Canadian Rock Supergroup led by MrPrez. I won’t tell you which ones though.

mortarion42Memberwow – cant believe I have missed this until now.
This is great Mr Prez and I cant wait to see what else you have in store for us !!
There is so much Canadian content that I would love to have in the game, any chance you are doing some Monster Truck or Big Sugar ?
That’s funny, I heard Monster Truck on the radio this morning and while I recognized the song (Don’t Tell Me How To Live), I didn’t realize that was the name of the band until I saw it on my car’s digital radio readout thingy.
I was also thinking some Matthew Good Band might be nice to do at some point. While they have a lot of hits (Hello Time Bomb, Apparitions, Load Me Up, Indestructible, Strange Days, etc), I feel like Weapon would be suuuuper fun.
MrPrez here has given me the push I needed to really start authoring in earnest, and there are so many Canadian bands that are sorely underrepresented. Like he said, it’s early in the year. Lots of time left to fulfill our CanCon requirements

mortarion42MemberI think the best console for you is the one from the same family you use for RB3, since presumably you have DLC and hardware to go along with it that you should be able to use.Oh, good point. Though in all likelihood I’ll keep using RB3 and my 360 for my bar nights, since it’ll have the largest library due to customs, and just play RB4 for fun at home. It’d be nice to have my DLC transfer over, but not super important for me personally since my mega-library will always be on 360 (and I can always play those songs on that console if I feel like playing them). I guess there are strong arguments for staying with the same family, but… No Man’s Sky and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture are PS4 exclusives, and No Man’s Sky looks suuuuuuper cool.

mortarion42MemberThere’s no “I want to support Harmonix so I’ll buy it and all the DLC they put out, but gosh darnit I’m really bummed out at the thought of no more customs” vote option.

mortarion42MemberHey, any of y’all ever go to Rockie Raccoon’s Rock Band Night back in the day? Wondering if I know any of you IRL.

mortarion42MemberActually, take a look at the TD-4KP. It has the MIDI out you need.As the proud owner of a TD-4KP, I can confirm that it works essentially straight out of the box with the midi pro adapter (you just need to swap the crash and ride). It has the added bonus of being a freakin’ Transformer which is great if you want to transport it or have limited storage/play space. However, keep in mind that the snare is right in the middle like a real kit, which can throw newbies off a bit. But I am a huge fan of mine.
It looks like the prices are a bit higher in the UK. I got mine for about $800 CAD which is about 400 GDP, but a quick look at UK websites shows prices from ~500-600 GBP. Maybe with some searching you can find some better prices. Also keep in mind, the kick pedal comes separately in a package with a drum throne for like $80. The hi-hat pedal that comes with the kit works as a kick just fine, though, if you don’t care about having a real kick pedal.
All in all, a quality e-kit is a big chunk of change, but IMO, it’s worth it for never having to worry ever again about your drums breaking or failing or wearing out. A good kit will last indefinitely longer than any other piece of equipment you’re using to play Rock Band with. Plus, playing on an e-kit is infinitely more satisfying.
