I have sZGE working on real Nand through the app Neogamma. Quite a few songs in sZGE, actually. So, I can confirm that sZGE does in fact work on a real console, and running the official disc through the Neogamma loader, no less.

As confirmed by Sin Ominous, it is possible. So don’t go merging with official DLC. I cannot recommend that. There’s never a case where you have to replace official DLC because of customs. Make sure you have the right WADs installed and that you boot the game with IOS249.

If it matters, sZGP is also working on real console

Thank you all for the info, seems I was getting some mixed messages. I will experiment with this some more. Are there any confirmed cases of the custom generation working with an emunand also? I was hoping to go that route due to the extra space but I should certainly have enough room on the SD card if not.

EDIT: So, an update. I tried the emunand approach to start with and found the custom generation was just not picked up at all. The .wad was installed and every instruction was followed to the letter but no songs loaded, didn’t even throw an error at me – just behaved as usual. Emunand on real Wii’s appears to be an understood problem, there was a discussion several pages back with a ‘workaround’ where you could install a 735a4645 folder with an edited title.tmd, which I also tried and that too had no effect.

So I gave up on that and am just trying to load something via SD card now, but even that’s giving me a lot of trouble. At first I tried installing the sample song and one other song, as per the guide, it got me as far as the songs being loaded on the quickplay menu but a little black box popped up reading “Add-on content cannot be restored to the Wii System Memory”. I’ve installed the custom wad, plus a bunch of other generation’s wads just to be sure, I’ve double checked ng-id and common-key are correct, I’ve even tried installing just the sample song on its own but get the same treatment. Does anybody have any idea what it could be? I know it’s a vague error that could mean any number of things but I’m stumped as to what else to try. I think it’s to do with my copy being PAL, maybe there are additional changes I need to make with naming and the like? I’ll keep trying for now.

EDIT (2): Got it working on SD finally by skipping straight to the sZGP gen and going from 003 onwards. Customs seem to be working fine now, thank you everyone. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Hi guys, sorry to be a pain, I’ve read many pages of the thread but can’t seem to figure something out.

I’m on a real Wii with Emunand – from reading the thread I’ve gathered that the custom sZGE/sZGP generation doesn’t work on the real console. The solution that is usually brought up is either replacing official DLC or merging the custom songs with official DLC, I assume in a similar fashion to the merging of two customs talked about in the first post, but I can’t find any post that goes into any real detail about the process. So, say I have some official DLC, I have a custom, what can I do to merge them? Because DLC comes in .app files, do I have to extract the app file somehow and rebuild it with the new content? If so, how?

Again, I’m sorry if there’s an obvious solution, I just really need this broken down for me.
