Well, the Xbox 360 accepts Windows formatted drives if you’re on a recent dashboard update. For the Xbox to see your formatted drive as unformatted, tells me you’re not using an updated dashboard and therefore are not following the guide’s instructions.
Nope, my 360 is 100% up–to-date on everything except the latest RB3 update.
November 2, 2016 at 10:17 pm in reply to: Windows 10 Anniversary Update Messes with Ability to View Xbox 360 Partition #477197That’s not what he said, is it?
I decided to give it a try on my end to see if I could replicate the issue. Both my Xbox 360 formatted USB drives loaded fine on my Windows 10 Pro Anniversary Edition machine, and RBtoUSB was able to read them just fine.
The OP said it was a 360-formatted drive, and then later said he formatted it on the PC and then plugged it into the 360. But if I format the drive on the PC and then plug it into the 360, the 360 reads it as an unformatted storage device and won’t recognize it until I let the 360 reformat it.
It’s the same process in the How to Play Customs on 360 guide in the forums here. Is there some other part of the process or different steps that I’m missing?
Has your 360 been updated at all since March 2015? Because if it’s still using a very old version then it’s formatting the flash drive in a special format which can’t be used with C3 Con Tools.
If it’s been updated then I’m not sure what the problem could be. Try formatting it again or see if it’s detected properly on another computer.
Yeah, my 360 is up to date.
I just saw this other post: http://customscreators.com/index.php?/topic/14832-windows-10-anniversary-update-messes-with-ability-to-view-xbox-360-partition/
I guess it’s something to do with Windows 10 Anniversary Edition that screws it up. Not sure how to get it working again yet…
October 16, 2016 at 4:05 pm in reply to: Windows 10 Anniversary Update Messes with Ability to View Xbox 360 Partition #476415Wait, how did you fix the issue?
I think I’m having the same problem. I format the drive on my 360 and then windows won’t recognize it and doesn’t even ask me to format it. It makes the noise like I plugged a new drive in but then never shows me any options to format or use it at all and nothing shows up in My Computer.
I have a problem where I formatted the drive on my Xbox, as the instructions said, and then when I plug it back into my PC the PC makes a noise like a new device has been added but it doesn’t show up in My Computer. And when I open the C3 Con Tools and do the RBtoUSB option, the drive doesn’t show up in the list of available drives.

+1 from me too!
I’m definitely on board with this! Actually, I’m surprised his MLP cover hasn’t been charted yet.

Yeah, I only put two of their songs in my list, but Mistakes and Time Bomb both need customs, plus their cover of Time.
We definitely need (hed) P.E. So many good songs!
Blackout
Suck it Up
Other Side
Boom (How You Like that)
Wake Up
I Got You
Bury Me
Raise Hell
Feel Good
Killing Time
Alternatively, if you want a version more suited to RB, Charm City Devils do a really good cover of this song.
Well you’ve definitely piqued my interest. I shall wait patiently for this enticing announcement!
+1! This is one of my favorite Meat Loaf songs. It’s very underrated but quite good.
We definitely need more Hinder. Room 21, What Ya Gonna Do, and Get Stoned are all good ones as well.
Another +1 for Daydream Believer.
