I was selling a few household items on Marketplace all day anyway, so it wasn’t strange that someone came to the house but I hid it from her at first because I didnt want her to get mad that I was getting more Rockband stuff. I told her last night after I saw the Ion kit though. She was cool with it.

So I took the guitar apart, and I was able to fix the whammy bar. There was a piece of plastic that broke off. I used some gorilla glue and made sure the whammy could still move. Its a little tight to move, but holds in place like normal. Better than being floppy.

The body has that gnarly crack and I watched a few solid body guitar repairs and I think im going to drill into it at an angle under the pick-guard so as not to fuck up the paint anymore than it already is and put in a wooden dowel to make it more solid before filling the crack in with epoxy.

I checked it all out and couldn’t find any noticeable issues. No corrosion. I cleaned it fairly well with some WD40 Electrical contact cleaner anyway though.

    My troubleshooting steps so far.

    • I took my 360 Slim apart and used my compressor to blow out any and all dust.
    • Shut off the wifi in the house completely 2.4 and 5ghz
    • layed out aluminum foil under and behind the 360 to try to block any interference from under or behind it while leaving the front exposed to the guitar (no more than 6 feet away)
    • cleaned the guts of the guitar
    • new batteries
    • checked for corrosion at battery terminals

But the connection problem persists and the guitar shuts down after 1-4 minutes. I’ve followed the leads from the connection button to the circuit board but didnt see anything like a capacitor. I think Im going to take the circuit board out and look at its backside to see if there is anything there. Anyone have any input for me?

This the wood guitar you been talking about? POST PICS!

Yes, I will, maybe after the repairs. This was the listing though.. Pictures are legit, exactly what I got.

It seems as if it has an issue after all. Some sort of connection issue. The button flashes almost constantly (while working just fine) and eventually shuts itself off pausing the game, Turn it back on and this continues. Brand new batteries, Not sure where to look, havent taken it apart yet. I read somewhere to replace some capacitors. Anyone on here have some tips or troubleshooting steps.

So the Logitech guitar came in today. It powered up, synced to my 360, all buttons worked. So its fully functional. Just has a crack in the body that I can fill, some posing tuning pegs I can replace, and a loose whammy bar Ill figure out what to do with. So all in all Im stoked. Only cost me around $70 with shipping. Im seeing them being sold for over $200

The latest mod for me was replacing the warped plastic ION rocker heads with beautiful bouncy mesh pads.

Whoa, if I knew this mod existed I probably would’ve held off on getting the Nitro Mesh kit.

I still have my Ion’s. I wonder if I should do this anyway…

Well, I ended up winning the bid for the non working wooden Logitech guitar. with shipping it came to like $70 or something. I’ll try to repair it and post what becomes of it.

    Crap, my bad. Sorry.

in reply to: Stage Kit Questions regarding customs #503267

I got it in finally and we used it on a few songs. a custom which didnt quite change the light, and then Break On Through which did, then I did several customs later and they all worked. However, Im confused about the strobe. When I turn on the unit it flashes, but then I don’t see it ever flash again. Not sure if something is wrong. When does the strobe actually get used, how do I narrow the problem down or fix it?

Thanks for the replies. Got some fog juice today in preparation and downloaded some new customs on a larger usb drive. Hope it adds an element of fun!

Thanks, I was able to snag this with another drum set, keytar and keytar stand for $20 on FB Marketplace. Talk about a learning curve, I mean I grew up in the 90’s learning to play guitar to tablature, its similar but wow I was struggling just now.

Love your drums, how much were they? Been wanting upgrade from my basic ION kit <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

It’s the Alesis Nitro Mesh kit. It’s really nice. I got it at Guitar Center for $350 new. The plan was to learn basic drums. But we really only play rockband with it, so since this picture I’ve adjusted the cymbals to match up with the RB Pro cymbal setup. In hindsight The Ion Pro kit I have is still probably the most ideal setup. Besides larger pads and cymbals, it stands higher off the ground. I cant get the Nitro any higher, So when you sit on the throne the height throws me off.

Thanks, Yeah I was looking to see any legit ways to just add any of these tracks into my collection. Any is better than none. cause I’m too lazy to change discs.

in reply to: I organized my gear (custom guitar hanger/shelving) #500586

To clarify, I only made the shelves on the left and right holding the guitars. The ladder shelving was existing. if anyone wants to know how to make one I can give my measurements and draw it out.

The guitars are in a slot at a 45 degree angle, and to keep them there, I chiseled out a groove downward for the necks to “slip” into, so my subwoofer wont shake them off.

The fact you got the Beatles for that price is phenomenal. Also, Is the Gretsch Guitar rare? I scored one for PS3 (no dongle) for 15 bucks at a used game store along with the Rickenbacker.

I don’t know if its rare but it took a while to find one for 360 for sale. It seems like the Hofner bass is more common. I don’t really care to have the drumset as Ive got like 5 now, so I’ll probably sell it.

If you can, if you ever find one… I urge you to grab as fast as possible, a wooden strat replica for RB.

That is crazy and good to know. Now I’m on the lookout.
