Removed All-American Boy, Girls/Girls/Boys, A Little Bit Alexis, and Shoes, as all have been released in the database.
Added:
Bastille – World Gone Mad
Marshmello & CHVRCHES – Here With Me
I’m back! Life has been busy, and until quarantine hit I didn’t really have time to work on customs anymore. Now that I have a bit more time on my hands, I’m hoping to release the last batch of customs that’s been sitting in my WIP queue for awhile.
I’m going to do my best to make these tracks as polished as possible, but expect some things to be missing, like pro keys or (in some cases) harmonies. If you see a song that you’d like to add those elements to, let me know and I’d be happy to do a collab with you!
Alright, enough with the preamble. On to the customs…
Just in time for the end of Pride month, here’s a pack of songs by LGBT artists and allies to the queer community.
Steve Grand – All-American Boy
First up, the title track off of the 2015 album “All-American Boy,” by openly gay country artist Steve Grand. In a rare move for the genre, Grand sings a heartfelt song about his feelings for another man and the desire for those feelings to be reciprocated. Highlights of the song: Grand’s passionate vocals, and a pretty fun guitar solo.
Panic at the Disco – Girls/Girls/Boys
This hit song by Panic! at the Disco is actually about lead vocalist Brendon Urie’s first threesome experience, but it’s since become an anthem for the band’s LGBT fanbase. To quote Urie in the chorus: “Love is not a choice.” This one’s a blast to sing and has a seriously infectious bassline. Thanks to Fat Ha1p3rt for the venue, overdrive, animations, practice sections, and authored reductions!Annie Murphy – A Little Bit Alexis
The recently concluded Schitt’s Creek was (surprisingly) one of the most LGBT friendly shows of the last several years, featuring a variety of queer characters and one of the healthiest gay relationships I’ve ever seen on television. This song is from the “critically reviewed” limited reality series starring the show’s fictional character, Alexis Rose. A lighthearted parody of 2000’s era pop stars like Britney Spears, this song would fit in well at any gay bar. The guitar and bassline may surprise you on this one.
Kelly – Shoes
Surprise, betches. This song was inescapable in 2006, hailing from one of YouTube’s biggest viral sensations at the time. Liam Kyle Sullivan’s gender-bent persona, Kelly, became a popular figure in the gay community and even appeared in a series of anti-gay bullying campaign videos called FCKH8. While the song is relatively simple to play, the nostalgia is strong with this one. That’s it for now. Happy Pride, and stay tuned for more future customs!Hey everyone. It’s been a heck of a long time since I posted here, during which I (mostly) retired from making customs. Life is incredibly busy and other commitments had to take priority for me. That being said, I had a BIG charting itch again due to quarantine, so I’ve got a good number of tracks near completion that just need to be polished up before they can be released.
Here are today’s updates to the main post:
REMOVED:
The Lonely Island – Finest Girl due to another author releasing it in the database.
ADDED:
Annie Murphy – A Little Bit Alexis (from Schitt’s Creek)
Ashley O – On a Roll (from Black Mirror)
Bastille – Doom Days
Bastille – Quarter Past Midnight
Billie Eilish – all the good girls go to hell
Billie Eilish – bellyache
Billie Eilish – you should see me in a crown
Cascada – Everytime We Touch
Kelly – Shoes
Marshmello & Bastille – Happier
Panic at the Disco – Girls/Girls/Boys
Steve Grand – All-American Boy
Taylor Swift – Cruel Summer
Taylor Swift – ME! (feat. Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco)
Taylor Swift – Wonderland
Everything listed above is almost done, although some may be lacking in harmonies and all are lacking in pro keys. If anyone is interested in helping with those parts, just send me a PM and I’ll share the files with you.
It’s good to be back!
UPDATE 1/19 – NEW YEAR, CLASSIC CUSTOMS
It’s been a long time since I’ve joined the customs scene here at C3, and when I look back at my earliest waves of customs, it’s amazing to see how I’ve grown as an author since then. The first few songs I released were… less than stellar. I was a newbie, figuring things out as I went, and as a result the customs got bogged down by a lot of newbie mistakes. I’m hardly a perfect charter now, but I’ve learned a lot over the years. And I figured it was only right that some of the awesome songs I charted back then get the customs treatment they deserve.
These four songs are some of my earliest customs, and they’ve all been massively rehauled. Some instruments have been touched up a bit; others have been recharted entirely. They now all sport snazzy new dryvox, animations, and venues. No pro keys yet (still a bit beyond me) but all songs sport harmonies where applicable. A very special thanks to Atruejedi, who provided harmonies for Come With Me Now.
Are these songs perfect? Hell no. But are they immensely more polished and playable? You betcha. If you have these in your library, definitely download the new versions. I think I’m just about done with them for now (although please let me know if there’s anything gamebreaking) but this definitely won’t be the last time I revisit some old customs. It’s been a real treat making these old favorites of mine new and sparkly again.
On to the songs!
Halestorm – Here’s to Us
http://pksage.com/cc…es-to-us-r10493
A fantastic anthem for all the times you’ve ever f***ed up and picked yourself back up again. One of Halestorm’s biggest hits. CHANGES: radical vocal rechart, harmonies added, difficulties adjusted, retouches on drums, bass, and guitar, dryvox, venue, and animations
KONGOS – Come With Me Now
http://pksage.com/ccc/IPS/index.php?/page/index.html/_/come-with-me-now-r10683
A huge radio hit from 2014 and a breakthrough song for KONGOS. CHANGES: vocals retouched by Atruejedi & harmonies added, drums, bass, and keys recharted, retouches on guitar, dryvox, venue, and animations
SafetySuit – Hallelujah
http://pksage.com/cc…llelujah-r10492
Everyone knows this song, although probably not this version. A fantastic cover with a super fun solo. CHANGES: Basically everything. This song has a 3/4 time signature and I, not knowing any better, tempo mapped it in 4/4. The whole thing’s been redone from scratch with all the bells and whistles (venue, dryvox, and animations included)
Shiny Toy Guns – Le Disko
http://pksage.com/ccc/IPS/index.php?/page/index.html/_/le-disko-r10501
One of my absolute favorite songs by the indie electropop band Shiny Toy Guns. CHANGES: Multitracks added (!!!), difficulties adjusted, harmonies added, guitar and drums recharted, retouches on bass and keys, dryvox, venue, and animations
Hope you enjoy, everybody!
Do u by any chance have plans to chart the rest of that (MASTERPIECE) album?
Not the whole thing, but if you check my WIP thread you may be pleasantly surprised… ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
December 25, 2017 at 10:02 pm in reply to: Fieldy92’s WiP Customs (6/6 – Back from the dead!) #493749Merry Christmas C3! With C3thon wrapped up and a pretty huge project out of the way (the Vessel full album release) I figured I’d finally update this thread with a preview of things to come in 2018. There’s some exciting stuff in store, so buckle in.
I’m working on a 6 pack of Taylor Swift songs to finish up everything that hasn’t been charted yet from 1989. This means that I Wish You Would, Welcome to New York, All You Had to Do Was Stay, and This Love will be joining the other T Swift songs on the list. Her song …Ready For It? off of reputation is also under construction.
Send Them Off! by Bastille has also been added to make a Bastille 3 Pack.
Thunder – Imagine Dragons has been removed due to the official Harmonix release.
Lastly, I’m going back and polishing up a few of the songs I released at the very beginning, because they’re pretty abysmal and deserve better. I’m also excited to say that I’ve found stems for one of them. I’m going to keep the songs a secret for now, but I think you guys will be excited. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Have a great holiday!
FINAL C3THON RELEASE
Taylor Swift – New Year’s Day
My closing song for C3thon also happens to be the closing track for T Swift’s newest album, reputation. Compared to the heavy pop influence of the rest of the album, New Year’s Day is a departure for her: a piano driven ballad about what happens after the party. Your real friends, she says, aren’t just the ones who are there for you at midnight – they’re the ones who do the hard work, who pick up the bottles with you after the guests have gone home. It’s a great image, and one I think we can all relate to this time of year.
I hope you all enjoy this quiet little track as much I do. Merry Christmas, good people of C3, and have a wonderful New Year. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
C3THON RELEASE – “VESSEL” by TWENTY ONE PILOTS
twenty one pilots – Ode to Sleep
twenty one pilots – Holding on to You
twenty one pilots – Migraine
twenty one pilots – House of Gold
twenty one pilots – Semi-Automatic
twenty one pilots – The Run and Go
twenty one pilots – Fake You Out
twenty one pilots – Guns for Hands
twenty one pilots – Trees
twenty one pilots – Truce
Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, better known by their band name twenty one pilots, have made incredible mainstream success the past few years with such recognizable hits as Stressed Out, Ride, Heathens, and Heavydirtysoul. The band’s name comes from Arthur Miller’s play All My Sons, which Joseph was studying in college. In it, a man knowingly sells faulty plane parts to save money for his business, but he learns that his actions have led to the death of twenty one pilots in WWII. This theme of choosing between the right choice and the easy choice resonated greatly with the band.
Their third record, 2013’s Vessel, is one of my desert island albums. The band is well known for their unique blend of genres – hip-hop, indie, electropop, with a dash of alternative rock – and Vessel, in my opinion, is where they really found their sound. From the iconic key riffs in Holding on to You, to the bouncy ukulele of House of Gold, to the soft piano closer that is Truce, Vessel is a showcase for the incredible talent this group possesses, and I’ll never get tired of listening through it.
I’ve been so lucky to work with the amazing maotico, Fat Ha1p3rt, TomGuy, and Jordan in bringing the twenty one pilots project to life, and we couldn’t be happier that this release is part of such a great event as C3thon. With our previous releases (“Screen” and “Car Radio”), the entire Vessel album is now available in the database. Special thanks to anglebracket for providing the charts for Ode to Sleep!
And if you’re a TOP superfan and one album isn’t enough for you… all we can say is stay tuned.
Preview videos should be up shortly!
