These guys were FREAKING AMAZING live. I just saw them open for Coheed in Pittsburgh. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
Would you like me to give these lower difficulties?
Eventually — in addition to working on Pimp & The Priest right now, I’ve started reworking the City Escape chart in a different template that actually has trill and tremolo markers. I think I need to do the same with Inquiry for the last like minute or so. Either way, help with reductions would be appreciated once I feel good about the X charts!
Also I don’t know what part of Cleveland you’re from, but TDH headline shows usually come through Akron or Cleveland. Places they like to play include Grog Shop, Beachland Ballroom, and some place in Akron of which I forgot the name.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, PLEASE, CONTINUE TO CHART THEIR SONGS! I’ve been listening to them since Act II…..my god…..my favorite fucking band of all time. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Worry not! I’ve just been busy with work and adjusting to my new schedule. Don’t worry, though. I’m shooting for Father’s Day to have Pimp and the Priest done. Also, as I said above, I’m working on cleaning up the City Escape charts right now. Also gonna be figuring out vocals for it, which is a massive undertaking given Casey’s philosophy on the human voice — he uses it as another instrument, basically, so the hard part with charting vox for TDH is charting all the backing vox and the “oohs” and “aahs.”
1878 instruments are finally done! Holy hell, this took awhile. I got to the guitar solo… and put it off… and put it off… and put it off… so hopefully I didn’t err too much in it. On the other hand, it is basically just Casey fucking around for like 45 seconds on a guitar, so it’s reasonably difficult to chart.

Here, I uploaded the template for you:http://www.mediafire.com/file/ggnt8ynz5djskc9/C3+Custom+RB3+Template.RPPActually, download this and follow the instructions inside (instructions.html)
thanks friend

“File unknown.”
that’s the download I used… it doesn’t matter, though, I tested it and it works fine.
So I finally got around to packing Cassandra Gemini from the legacy database and it’s 40,321 KB. Is that gonna be okay?
April 20, 2017 at 9:03 pm in reply to: Question regarding “trill” and “strum” MIDI notes in REAPER #484182You might not be using a recent template then. There should be a Tremolo or “Strum Marker” one lane under the Trill one. The trill should be at the top [128] so it should* be on lane 127.
Show All Lanes -> Rename 127 to “Tremolo” or “Strum Marker”
From here, you might want to File -> Customize Note Names -> Save Note Names to File
and then update the existing Guitar names that you had. I’d also update your base template so that you don’t have to make this change each time as well.
I have “RBN Blank Template,” “RBN2 Template,” and “RBNTemplate.” I have no idea which one I’ve used for my projects.
April 19, 2017 at 4:29 am in reply to: Question regarding “trill” and “strum” MIDI notes in REAPER #484129I don’t have a tremolo lane in REAPER… it just goes the Expert lanes, overdrive marker, BRE lanes, then the trill marker?
Lower the Sample Rate. 44k is too high when you need to make compromises like this. 32000 is sufficient for this. Definitely don’t do stereo silence tracks. In 30 minutes, those add up quickly. When listening through VLC, you have to choose the audio track to listen to from the menu, which will usually be the last 2.
But, if you still can’t get the file size down reasonably, send it to me and I can try it. C3 released a really challenging 30 minute song once and I had a trick to get that working.
Was the song Cassandra Gemini (by The Mars Volta)? I’m a big Volta fan and I’ve been trying to get it to work. I’ve been on vacation this past weekend, so I haven’t had time to sit down and work on it as you suggested with the 32k bit rate.
So I lowered the quality a bit and I still can’t get it under the default .mogg file (44k bit rate, 6 quality). In addition, when I try to listen to the output bik in VLC, it is just a half hour of silence.
Then you probably have to toggle the quality settings to get the file size down. A MOGG is just a lot of OGG files, so maybe if you even turn the WAV into an OGG first, then a WAV for RockBiink, you could get the size down and the audio quality to something reasonable. If you have doubts about the audio quality of the BIK, VLC lets you listen to them as well and even lets you listen to specific audio tracks (which you will need to test on something like this).
Where are the quality options in either Audacity or Bink editor?
Oh yeah, it’s probably been broken ever since we changed forum software, which was quite a while ago. I’ll make sure to include that in the next update.
As for the file size issue, is the .bik file smaller than the source file? What is happening between when RockBiink outputs its file and you pack a bin? You’re not leaving in the old audio file in there are you?
The .bik is about 1/5 the size of the .wav, but it’s over double the size of the .mogg (mind you, I didn’t use the .mogg as the base for the .wav because Audacity couldn’t import all 30 minutes of it).
When making a .bin, nothing spectacular happens; it just takes a lot longer than normal.
The “Usage” link in Rockbiink is broken.
Also, I’ve been encountering an issue with Rock Biink that I’ve never had before. What if the resulting .bin from packing after the whole RockBiink process ends up significantly larger than before?
-=Excited screaming.=-
Holy hell, I’m so fucking hyped for TDH as customs. I’m so glad someone’s going through and putting up their songs! Thank you, sir!
Haha, thanks. I’ve been slacking a bit on 1878, to be honest, but it’ll be out soon! Promise.
That’s amazing, man! Keep up the good work!
Thank you!
March 5, 2017 at 12:26 am in reply to: How do you do a tempo map when the waveform is incredibly unfun to work with? #482281I’d say you got good advice from one of the best around here and I agree with him that you should tempo map first, and chart later. it will save you tons of problems later on.
I did! I’m very happy and thankful — I just haven’t had the time or lack of background noise to sit down and get back at it.
