hey all, I’m pretty new to this. I’m trying to test some songs in dolphin and record previews. I got my songs in there just fine, but now I don’t know how to update them. I couldn’t remember their original decimal IDs, so I deleted all the .app files I made and deleted the cache. now they’re all just showing up as corrupted files in my library. what am I doing wrong here?

Don’t know! That’s why I was confused. I figured any problems would get caught when compiling.

At the very least the reason your album art isn’t showing up is because your id name is too long. It’s showing up as freedomliveatthegrandolympv1_keep.png_xb which means it’s 2 characters too long

That did the trick! Thanks man.

I’m gonna wait until I play-test the song with my full band before adding the OD phrases and uploading to the database.

Here’s the “uncorrupted” file in case you want a sneak peak:

Customs 101: we don’t have separate stems for most songs, we use a single track. When you whammy your notes on guitar or bass or you vibrate your notes on keys, the game applies an effect to the instrument’s stem. Official songs have separate stems, so guitar/bass/keys gets properly distorted. Customs have single tracks, so the entire song audio for the guitar track gets distorted. Same goes for anything that affects individual stems like effects, drum fills, etc.

Ahh yes of course, I wasn’t sure what you were referring to. Thanks m8

Nice to know I’ve been doing this wrong for a year now :haw:

I thought I had to use a specific length audio file, which is why I’d been rendering blank ones this whole time. This actually makes my life easier by cutting out an unnecessary step.

Size is the least of your worries, free drum fills and whammy bar action are the real issues.

                Que?

Thanks for the help everybody. I guess I’ll be re-uploading all my customs in the next week or so lol

So I rendered the muted song file to mp3, which is only 4mb in size. But now when I drop it into Magma it automatically creates a new .wav version which is once again 50mb. Weird

Am I the only one that can’t get Archie marry me to work? When I use RBtoUSB it says it’s not a valid file. I love Alvvays, would really like to get this song to work!
