Once you go WoR guitar, you’ll never go back.
June 29, 2014 at 2:23 pm #423650Once you go WoR guitar, you’ll never go back.I remember thinking the same thing about GH3 vs. Rock Band.
And that I’d stick with the Wii version since graphics don’t matter. Whoops.
June 30, 2014 at 12:24 pm #423688Once you go WoR guitar, you’ll never go back. This is my first GH WoR guitar I will own on the Xbox, but I owned it on the Wii and I play with one on the Xbox every week at the pub I go to play RB at. So I’ve used it extensively. I still prefer the GH4/5 body.

Ive always liked the GH2 Guitar but i do have the Beatles guitar and GH3 and WOR Gtr i dont think its the most practical guitar the Gh2 one, but im so used to it. and to this day i have not even learned the fine arts of Alt Strum.
Maybe ill dust off my WOR guitar in Future.
July 1, 2014 at 2:19 pm #423765Gumtree is essentially our Craigslist so I’ve been looking over it to see what I can find. I’m most interested in guitars, because I have a sturdy ION set that will likely keep for a long time and a keyboard which died on me right before the last DLC of 2012 came out, but after some surgery I managed to bring it back to life and it’s worked like a charm ever since. None of my guitars have ever been that sturdy; I’ve gone through at least five, and while my current WOR guitar has worked for two years, the tensile strength in the whammy bar ran out so it just swings everywhere now. I’m not waiting to see how long it has.
There’s this guy selling a Hofner bass for $20 that I’m very tempted to grab. It seems he also has a number of instruments for himself, including a drum set included in photos but not on sale, and an RB3 keyboard on sale for $50. No thanks.
I’ll report back if I can find other treasure troves. The pawn shop market has all but stopped selling these peripherals (except for Wii) but hopefully I can find more.
July 1, 2014 at 2:56 pm #423767In our area (Phoenix, AZ), the “used media” bookstores are a pretty good bet for old instruments. There is a local chain, Bookman’s, that seems pretty consistently stocked.
And yeah, local craigslist usually has a ton of plasti-instruments available. I search for e-drum parts every once in a while, but it’s hard to even find them, as the searches return too many of the vg guitars (and laundry machines, as “drum” is apparently a common search term for those).
July 2, 2014 at 10:33 am #423839I have some1 near me who brought 50 DJ hero 1 for his shop, and now in 2014 he still has 43 of them, he is knocking them out at £5 each and thats still too high me thinks.
(ill add a picture next time i go round his place)
July 2, 2014 at 11:02 am #423841Sitrep on the two free guitars: they were sitting next to her bins, as she said. It’s good I got to them when I did because apparently they would be outright thrown out the very next day. They both looked about as banged up. Maybe I should show pictures of the scuffles one has. But the two couldn’t be further in functionality. One has an intermittent double-strum problem as far as I can see. The other makes a weird clicking noise when I strum, and I don’t just mean the typical sound that comes with GH5 guitars. Otherwise, I was able to GS Run to the Hills so I think that says it all.
Picking up a Hofner tomorrow, hopefully.
July 3, 2014 at 3:09 am #423922Picked up the four for $25. Not the best deal I’ve gotten but I was willing to pay the price since it’s the first time I see Les Pauls locally in any good shape. I’ll probably gift the two RB1 guitars as I don’t like or need them. But finally got the Les Paul, and two of them!
Along with the GH WoR on the way, that completes my collection except for two very unlikely candidates: the wings for the GH WoR guitar and the PS3 War Beast guitar. Those I don’t expect to ever find but I keep searching.
July 3, 2014 at 3:07 pm #423942Nice work, Nemo. Meanwhile, I got lost in a suburb I thought I knew like the back of my hand because I had lived on three different streets of it. Granted, this was back when I was in primary school and earlier, but still. I had to call my mother to drive me back to my dad’s home because all of the buses had stopped for the night. I owe her a solid. But I did get my Hofner.
It’s in decent condition. All of the buttons and the strum bar work, except I have to hold the start button to get it to function. Is this a hardware fault or a deliberate design decision? I know fighting game sticks sometimes do this, but I hadn’t run into a guitar that does this, including the RB1 Stratocaster. As for the guitar itself, I’m not a big fan. While it’s inherent to the design, neither the buttons nor the strum bar feel like they have enough recoil, and it just feels counter-intuitive. The whammy bar has also lost its tensile strength, meaning it keeps falling over. I’ll admit I still like the gimmick of the effects switch to add more echo to the Great Southern Trendkill solo, but this is definitely a back-up guitar. Still, now I have three working guitars, I’m sated, though I wouldn’t be averse to more either.

Is this a hardware fault or a deliberate design decision?Design decision, I believe, in an effort to relieve the accidental pauses from folks accidentally hitting it while playing. At least that’s what the ad said when I bought a new Gretsch controller last Christmas.
July 3, 2014 at 3:45 pm #423946Yeah I also have noticed that “sticking” of the start button but I don’t mind it.
I really do not enjoy the Hofner bass though. The neck is way too long, and I’ve never been a fan of the RB style frets, so it’s a bad combination. But man is it pretty! I’m very proud of my Beatles collection. I think they’re the best looking game guitars ever made, even if I don’t particularly enjoy playing with them.
July 7, 2014 at 8:52 pm #424219There’s one guitar that isn’t in your collection Nemo… and believe me, it’s the cherry on top of the pie!!
The Xbox 360 Orange Logitech Wireless Guitar!
This thing is truly a full size guitar. The body and neck are real, solid wood, which means it also has real guitar weight, a full 6 pounds, 6 ounces with strap.
Been playing with this one for a few years now, bought it when it was released in the same week, set me back over 200 dollars, but it’s more then worth the money! More info here
No choice in the color tho, the xbox360 version is orange, and the Ps3 version is solid black.
I’m curious if u can spot these on craigslist.. sadly enough, here in belgium.. no such thing as a craigslist ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />
Just saw on Amazon this:
Damn thats still pricey!
July 8, 2014 at 1:51 am #424244That’s very pretty. Can’t say I even knew it existed. I also doubt I’ll ever see it locally. I play regularly with a wooden RB one, the cherry one. If I could find those for $50 or less locally I’d get them, but it’s not something I expect or really have on my must-have list.
Now a Squier and a Mustang, maybe. But then again, not only it’s dirt-cheap prices.
