Hi everyone, first of all awesome, really fantastic project here. I’m enjoying it tremendously so far!
I’m having a problem that my initial forum search here didn’t quite answer so I’m hoping to get some advice.
Basically, all my RB Lego imported songs won’t load. The album art won’t load when I select the song, and it won’t play the preview, and if I try to play any of them, I get the “Unable to load, skipping” error. All of my Customs from the database play fine.
If I’m online with Title Update 5, I can play those songs. It’s like when I’m online, it double checks that I own those songs, and lets me play them. Unfortunately, since I can’t go online with Customs, the Lego RB songs show up, but I can’t play any of them. This also has a side effect that if I start a new saved game and a thus a new band, they’ll show up in all my Road Challenges, and will be picked during Random setlists, which I won’t be able to complete because it can’t load them.
Is there any fix to this? I have tried several combinations of starting a new game while online and transferring that save to my USB stick to see if it’ll load offline, things like that, without any luck.
Thanks in advance for any help and advice!

When I’m offline playing Customs, I can’t play the RB Lego songs. I haven’t switched consoles or anything. It’s like the RB Lego songs are checking for something online when I try to play them, and since I’m not online, it just skips them with the error.
I will have to check to see if it does the same with my RB1 and RB2 imports, if it does maybe that’ll give me more of a clue. I’m redownloading all the export packs and license packs so maybe that’ll make a difference as well.
Is there some sort of license file/save game type thing I should be copying to my Customs USB stick?
January 17, 2015 at 4:48 pm #436462Thanks for the response, but that doesn’t quite apply to the issue I’m having. I can play the songs when onlineYes, that’s why it’s exactly your issue. It’s been discussed plenty of times here, on Reddit, etc. Follow those steps, you need to redownload the licenses so that you can play offline.
January 17, 2015 at 4:54 pm #436463Redownloading them now and I’ll give it a try. Thanks for your help and for all your hard work on the customs – it’s really reinvigorated the game for me and my family! Downloaded 200 songs in the past few days – is there a “donate” option somewhere? I’d love to throw a few bucks at the project for hosting costs.
Now I just need to find a replacement RB2 guitar as the last time I tried to repair my green fret, the tabs holding it to the base finally broke, and I had to butcher the buttons off my Beatles RB bass to replace it. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />

Have fun, tell your friends, support Harmonix so they can make more DLC and a Rock Band sequel and thank the authors when they release something you like, that’s the currency accepted around here. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

January 17, 2015 at 5:55 pm #436468Unfortunately, after redownloading all my export packs, the Lego RB songs still won’t play. RB1 and RB2 songs are fine, as are the RB Blitz songs.
Actually, I’m going to delete the Lego songs and redownload them that way. Previously I just redownloaded them. I’ll let you know if it works.
January 18, 2015 at 7:22 am #436507Unfortunately, after a couple of hours of trying everything, I wasn’t able to fix this. I had to delete the Lego Rock Band content from my system to prevent it from showing up as Unable to Load.. Skipping in Random setlists.
I also had to redownload all my purchased songs. Well, not all of them, but so many of them were also Unable to Load that I just went into my Xbox Live website login and just kept checking all the RB songs and redownloading them again, just to be sure. After redownloading, I was fine and they all played fine with Title Update 4 and Customs.
Sadly, nothing I could do, in any combination, would allow me to once again play my Lego Rock Band songs.
January 18, 2015 at 2:26 pm #436513Just to confirm, did you check that the licence was associated with your current console (i.e. did you licence xfer or just “re-download”)? If they work online but don’t work offline that still points to it being a licence thing, because if you’re online it checks against “was this purchased with this ID /or/ are the files’ licences associated with this console”, but if you’re offline it checks only the latter.
January 18, 2015 at 2:30 pm #436514Also, this is not a Rock Band thing or a customs thing, it’s an Xbox thing. Any DLC for any game is tied to your console OR to your Live account. If you’re not online, you need to use the DLC on the console you tied it to.
January 18, 2015 at 6:18 pm #436529Yeah, I transferred licenses and did every combination of redownloading, deleting the songs, redownloading both the files and the export license, deleting the song cache, etc.
I also had to redownload most of my downloaded DLC (without having to delete the actual files), but as soon as I did that, those songs worked. Lego Rock Band never worked no matter what I did, however. The only way to get everything to work is to go online.
Thanks again for your help. I was curious if there was some sort of file (like the song cache or the export license) that I needed to copy to the USB stick to make it work, but apparently that’s not it.
January 19, 2015 at 4:51 pm #436596Yeah, unfortunately, I don’t think there’s a separate licence key for it, so the scope of things we can tweak/adjust/tamper with is limited.
Dumb question, potentially — you wouldn’t happen to have a second copy of the export on any attached devices, would you? If there are two files, it may only be looking at one of them, and that one could be the one w/ the wrong licence info attached. I know I had that problem when I had a LIVE and CON version of the same song (got someone to send me a CON as I accidentally deleted my file prior to a party, and wasn’t in a position to hook the Xbox back up to XBL, then forgot to delete it after I got the original).
