Will it ever be possible to play customs on PS3 without modding it?

Ok, did you convert a 360 custom with type 3 enrcyption or did you use a existin PS3 Custom?

I used my con files that is working on my CFW, did a type 3 encryption with C3 con tools.

Ok, thats a bummer, you can only try with a full backup, use the Advanced Menu from PeXploit v0.8.

I click on advanced and I get ”Advanced.exe is missing”.

Downloaded it from there : http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=81941

Also it seems I need my IDPS to do this also, is there any other way than IDPStealer?

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but did anyone manage to do it?

      Using kim666’s instructions that is.

I was going to try but it’s taking quite a while to backup my PS3

I kind of gave up, but Nemo has updated the encryption we needed to have to do this, so it might actually work. Just keep in mind that you cannot add customs to a full backup, unless you find your IDPS, which I think Sony has has already got a workaround, so unless someone go through it I dont think its possible.

Wait so… How exactly am I supposed to backup the PS3 files if not a full backup?

And how do I find my IDPS? Looked it up but don’t really get it :ohdear:

You have to do a full backup, but you won’t be able to retrieve all paid content (and activation data) from this backup without IDPS, only the OS and the required stuff for the OS to run, from there, you can inject files.

How to get IDPS on official firmware is something I’d like to know, since now Sony patched IDPStealer. IDPS would be used to actually get all your stuff you couldn’t get normally. I think you can still keep your full backup (and I usre hope you have the space to keep a copy of it) so whenever you want to revert you will be able to recover all of this data without downloading.

          So, wait, I got confused.

If I make a full backup, I can use the method kim posted before to play customs on my PS3, but I’ll have to redownload all the stuff I bought on PSN as soon as I restore it?

So the IDPS as of now is impossible to get? I have a Super Slim and on latest firmware. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />

Yes, there’s two ways you can attack this (and it’s only if customs actually works, never got them to work, but that doesnt mean you wont be able to) Either just save both backups on your computer, keep preciously your full backup stored on a safe drive (no SSD, or such), so you can switch to either customs or your own content, or, if you have money (or another laptop HDD to spare) you could buy a second HDD and swap them when needed. (One with your paid stuff, one with customs).

As for the IDPS, I’m not sure if as of now its impossible to get, but latest news was sony patched the last way to get it, it’s possible it was been updated on the modders side too, but I can’t find anything.

Howdy! Mobile phones are quite expensive, and therefore every owner needs to think about high-quality protection of their device from damage! Among the large number of brands that produce phone cases, many choose Otterbox, as their products are of very high quality and last a very long time. Even if something happens to the case, the user does not have to look for the otterbox phone number, he can report it online, and the company will honor the warranty obligations, which is appreciated by all customers.
