So I recently bought Rock Band 3 for Wii, and was interested to find all the custom songs that were available. I finally decided to try downloading one today, so I softmodded my Wii using Letterbomb and followed every instruction on the tutorial (http://customscreators.com/index.php?/topic/14630-how-to-playing-customs-on-wii/) After many hours of work, nothing happens. When I load up the game and it asks me if it should save add-on content to the SD Card, it just says “Add-on content cannot be restored to the Wii System Memory” and when I press continue it says “SD Card mode has not been enabled. To enable it later go to System Settings under Options.” After I do that, it just repeats the same message. I don’t know what’s happening. I’ve tried re-installing everything. The only odd thing was that when I installed Letterbomb, there was no “data” folder, so I had to create that myself. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
August 22, 2016 at 4:02 am #473707I have had this problem when I had a WIi and loaded customs into Rock Band 3 and the fix for me was to download a homebrew application named FSToolbox which can be found with a quick Google search and you simply place it on your SD card as a app and open up the Homebrew Channel and load the app. After loading the app do the following:
Navigate to: title/00010000/535a4245/data
Replace MSTORE.vff with an empty version to force a refresh.
Push HOME to exit.
Boot the game and watch it load. After doing this, your SD card should be recognized by Rock Band 3 now. If not, I would suggest buying another one and trying again. It could be the case of a faulty SD card. Also, are you using a micro SD card with an adapter or just a standard one?
August 22, 2016 at 5:18 am #473708I downloaded it and went to “data:, but it wouldn’t let me open it. I tried pressing every button, but it just wouldn’t work. I don’t know what’s going on.
Also, I’m just using a standard SD card. I’ve tried 2 so far and both of them just have the same problem.
August 22, 2016 at 6:41 am #473713I forgot to mention you have to load using IOS 236. Make SURE you are navigating to the correct directory because every section has their own /data folder. trust me, when you open the data folder the MSTORE.vff will be there. What version of FSToolBox are you using by the way?
August 22, 2016 at 7:05 am #473715I used the one included in here. http://ge.tt/8f2aVwfAny other time I downloaded it, it just said “This is not a Wii application:
August 22, 2016 at 7:32 am #473716Okay, I think I have it figured out now, I am sorry that I am a tad confused because I no longer own a Wii so I am trying to remember from bare memory, Okay, so you want to download the MSTORE.vff from that website and on your SD card which you can access by your computer navigate to title/00010000/535a4245/data/ and copy the MSTORE.vff to that directory and THEN load up FSToolbox and load using IOS 236. I apologize for not knowing earlier but this should work. You should be able to see MSTORE.vff now and simply highlight it and press “+” on your Wii remote and it will overwrite the old one with a clean one.
August 22, 2016 at 4:56 pm #473722For some reason, I’me not able to access title/00010000/ on my computer. The only file I can access is a file called “HAEA”, and that doesn’t lead anywhere.
August 22, 2016 at 5:53 pm #473724I never use FSToolbox anymore, You should really use WiiXplorer r259. You’ll need FileZilla but it’s also a free program. http://www.mediafire.com/download/12lq33t21w3n59d/R259.zip
August 22, 2016 at 6:00 pm #473725I used WiiXplorer and got to 00010000/535a4245/data and deleted MSTORE.vff, and when I open RB3, it does the same thing.
August 22, 2016 at 6:38 pm #473730Did you go through the nand folder?
August 22, 2016 at 6:46 pm #473731Yeah. I went through it a bunch of times. I honestly don’t know what’s happening.
August 22, 2016 at 10:27 pm #473739I have had this issue before, but I can’t remember how I got past it. Install (correct for your system) WADS, make sure console ID and common key are correct. And you have to have at least one DLC. Follow the instructions on original post. This from previous posts:Just a heads up for anyone who might be having this issue, I double checked my Console ID and it was off by 1 letter the songs load up perfectly. Thank you for all your hard work! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />Or this?SD care not being read sounds like you’re not loading with IOS249. Is that how you’re booting the game through the USB loader?Or try from page #72, zootoxin post about half way down,Sorry I can’t help, but your solution is in here somewhere. Good luckAugust 22, 2016 at 11:33 pm #473747Or you could try moving some other save data to the SD card via the wii. That worked for me.
If you have any save data on your console, move or copy it to the SD card and try again.
August 23, 2016 at 1:20 am #473753I downloaded IOS249 but nothing changed. I don’t know what to do now.
August 23, 2016 at 8:02 am #473769I seem to remember I had to update the Shopping Channel after the letterbomb hack but if you have followed all the steps, then you have probably done that. If your ID and console key are correct, and you have installed the correct WADS and altered your songs DTA file to show the path, and still get nowhere, one of the experts will hopefully be able to help. Have you tried a different song just in case?
