Not me, for obvious reasons

But I’m sure it’s a tempting idea for many.

Are you applying? Do you realistically think you qualify?

Oh foo, I was already to sign up for RB4 playtesting, but yeah, I’m not in Boston either.

Well, RB4 requires you to be in Boston because they won’t let that out of the studio, but they do mention other projects that might allow playtesting remotely. So that’s something to consider.

          Not me though, not me.

I’m unfortunately about 4 hours south of boston.

But I signed up anyway lol

As long as I’m being completely honest with myself and everyone else, RB4’s really the only thing I’d want to playtest. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Darn, I’d totally do this. But Boston.

Dear god, I hope it’s not the same play testers from RB3. Those people should never work as a Q&A team ever again.

Please, always show respect for other people’s work. You don’t know what was asked of them and your opinion of how the game turned out is yours and not fact.

To be fair RB3 had pretty bad quality control though. If I remember correctly Du Hast’s Medium Drums is basically Hard, and because they forgot to reduce it they just ramped up the tier instead of doing anything to actually fix it. Not to mention the broken talkie in Before I Forget, even without the “talkies won’t work” glitch happening it never registers even if I hold the note long before it (this is on the EU PS3 port though so maybe it works on Xbox). Also the fact that nearly none of the tiers make any sense

I’d agree that the RB3 disc song tiers were like throwing darts at a board.

I understand that but nothing above addresses the tone (you can dislike other people’s work or comment on it in a respectful way, like you did), the fact that we don’t know what was asked of them (I’ve been on both sides of playtesting in projects and without knowing how it worked you simply can’t say which party was to blame) and the fact that issues severity is subjective. And again, it’s fine to comment and disagree but it shows lack of empathy and understanding of work dynamics to just say that you hope somebody is out of a job without actually knowing how the job was set up.

Those gripes are small potatoes. Did everybody forget the freeze in the pre-song cutscene as the roadies are pushing the crate down the ramp? That happened to me twice in the first 4 hours of gameplay.

I remembered hearing about it before the game came out and sure enough when it came to that part, FREEZE. Happened quite a bit to me as well iirc.

The numerous patches alone show they deserve NO RESPECT. What the hell work DID they actually do?! The complaints on the RB forums spoke for themselves. They allowed Harmonix to ship a game with a damn near invisible fret board and how the hell does the game not include Mic Sensitivity? Plus who’s stupid idea was it to change online play and allow everyone to choose songs at once? It was perfect in RB2, and then they allow all these trolls to spam the playlist with one song over and over, or leave the 4 song setlist once their song gets played. It’s almost like those testers never played a RB game before.
