i use 4.22. I heard stories about the more current versions not supporting this or that. What is the most current version of Reaper that C3 or anyone else uses? What drawbacks if any are there?
Don’t go over 4.22, all kinds of stuff breaks.
I think the limit of it is version 4.402, I was using version 4.33 to create my customs and it was working fine but I update it because I was receiving too many erros of overlapping notes, the v4.5 add many “problems” to authoring, mainly an “error” of create a track name event on every track with the same name of the archive you’ll export.

Nope, the limit is 4.22.
which version is optimal? I’m not thrilled with 4.22

4.22 What don’t you like?

snap grid and quantitize don’t work as well for me
4.52
Anything lower and the tempo mapping is all wonky. Misaligned points and such nonsense. But I keep a 4.22 copy just for re-editing midis since 4.52 doesn’t do that right.

Of course, all admins at C3 use 4.22 or lower and they all produce songs with wonky tempo maps.
I think it’s funny how in so many places in here it is stated authors should use 4.22 by those with experience and by those who create the tools … yet everyone wants to do whatever the hell they want
4.15 because I was too lazy to upgrade.
4.22 is def the upper bound.
