The situation did not happen to me, but to a good acquaintance of mine. He once went to a technology lawyer for advice regarding trademark and patent registration. Everything was explained to him, he left, and after a while it turned out that his competitor had registered the patent and trademark that belonged to my acquaintance before him. After lengthy proceedings, it turned out that the competitor had received information from the lawyer and had taken advantage of it.
