My scores are wiped out whenever I buy dlc and those songs are added to the game. Doesn’t happen if I add customs though. Was wondering about a way round this myself

Backing up your savegame seems like a solution. (Anyways, this would work on ps3 and wii, no idea about x360, this should.)

so i’m curious i had my usb stick in my computer from putting songs on last night. pulled it out of my computer put into the xbox and i’m sure i didn’t overwrite the song cach. but now it doesn’t read in the computer or xbox. still says i have hae the usb filled but i can’t view anything. can you corrupt the data pulling it out?

i had to tell it to look to the usb and then it asked to replace the file as it was missing…can i use the con tools to put back?

i assume i’ll lose my scores…i just want to keep the songs as hunting them down again will be a pain in the arse

tu4 files looks gone etc. is this what happens when you update i know i didn’t though

what does reset rbtousb do? how can i get my songs back? or save them somewhere

        can you view hidden files?

shows 15 gigs being used which is the only thing on the drive. other than a recovery program is there anything go have these show up again?

can anyone give me a hand renaming some files? is that easy as changing the names in the dta editor?

i have conflicts with songs showing up based on the file name….unless someone can tell me that’s not a thing but it seems like it is cause the song itself switched

moneyv1 pink floyd switched with moneyv3 josie and the pussycats

so pink floyd plays the cats song and the cats song isn’t even in the library

delete pink floyd and josie shows up

delete josie pink floyd shows but doesn’t play. wonder if that file is messed up.

To be safe, I’d say all short names that appear in the DTA should be changed. That includes the first line in the file, the filename in the path, and the CON file and content names. That should be sure to avoid any conflicts. A cache reset would clean up any problems left behind. Or are there certain scores you’d like to keep?

can you help me how to do this. i dragged the con file into con tools and i get the preview thing with the extract commend. i did this and renamed everything now i go to replace file for the components but they don’t replace. it says file replaced successfully but nothing changed.

ok so that doesn’t work but if you go to con creator you can drop all the components back in and do it that way.

only thing is the songs/xxxxx/xxxx but i renamed that in dta editor…still one song doesn’t show up and the other has no audio

songs are you and me by lifehouse and attack attack

That doesn’t sound right. If you just want to edit the DTA, drag it over the Quick DTA Edit button. Then you can just make changes to the DTA and it closes and resaves the CON file for you. You shouldn’t need to do anything with the midi or mogg files for this.

i did what you said in the previous post and it worked. I was saying when you drag the con file into con tools you can’t just replace stuff like it says. i went to create con file readded things and deleted song cach and it worked. so now i know how to fix files that interfere with each other thanks a bunch!

so i’m curious if you package up a bunch of songs are they still cache free wipe proof? like inside the pack with their song id’s. will they still save your scores and be wipe proof or no now because they are packed and have an n/a for song id.?

                    #503572

packing songs together or having single files does not affect the cache at all, except for the build speed, I guess.

i was referring to the wipe proof files that have song id’s that make them save the scores in the file instead of using the cache.

also is it best to put the cache on the usb stick with your song or leave the cache to the xbox harddrive?

                      #503574

It’s as simple as Numerical IDs saves to your savegame, and invalid IDs (non-numerical) don’t.

As for the xbox cache I have no idea, I’m guessing this doesn’t matter unless you have a TU4/TU5 setup with 2 USB sticks.

thanks i was just curious how the ids were treated packaged. all of my songs should have id’s but packaged you get n/a for the pack file

To make sure a song has a valid ID there’s no more direct way than to directly open the DTA file.
