What in your opinion, is a DLC release that can be considered a bad release or annoying?

All the songs done by cover bands we paid for “pretty much suck” !
I wouldn’t have minded that so much if we had gotten a “half off” kinda’ deal or “2 fer 1”, ya’ know?! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
March 18, 2017 at 4:39 am #482862Yeah that one disappointed me as well. Honestly “Gypsy Queen” is the best part of “Black Magic Woman”.
Another one that bugs me is when they release the original version of a cover and title it like “Limelight (Original Version)”. What I think should have been emphasized is the cover version rather than the original because now it doesn’t look flush when you have the rest of the album and such.
Yup, just like an Oreo with no creamy white center or a Reese’s P.B. cup nada the P.B. ….leaves you goin’ “what the hell?!?”
March 18, 2017 at 8:55 am #482865There’s always a small bit of disappointment when the DLC is a band I don’t like or never heard of, but I think my only disappointments in terms of songs were Come As You Are, Why Can’t We Be Friends, Surrender and Come On Eileen. While they all sound awesome , I would have much preferred the original artists and the studio versions!
March 18, 2017 at 11:02 am #482866Harmonix would always put down “As Made Famous By” if they did DIY stems such as War Pigs “As Made Famous By” Black Sabbath
That’s not what DIY stems are. The ‘As Made Famous by’ are actual covers, meant to be as close as possible. DIY stems are separated instruments from less than ideal sources, but from the original artist’s recording.
March 18, 2017 at 5:06 pm #482886That just reminded me. I remember when we got Black Magic Woman….. but just* Black Magic Woman. It’s one of those thing I knew, but didn’t expect Harmonix to do. Most radio stations play the version of the song that is actually “Black Magic Woman” AND “Gypsy Queen” all as one (same fashion that the commonly heard version of Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2 is actually “Happiest Day’s of our Lives” and “Another Brick….”.
Would someone be allowed to release a custom that is both songs together? or would that break the rules?
March 18, 2017 at 5:25 pm #482887Finally thought of one – the live version of Thin Lizzy’s “Jailbreak” is at a faster tempo than the studio version and honestly Phil Lynott’s vocals in that version are a pain in the ass. Major disappointment. I started working on the studio version a few weeks back.
Keeping the content Canadian since 2017!

Ahh that makes sense now. Forgive me on that mistake
March 19, 2017 at 3:40 pm #482920Pretty much all of the disposable, forgettable pop they keep forcing into the game simply based on the fact that it’s popular.

Ugh, I can agree with that. Major disappointment on Harmonix’s part.

Have to agree with this quite a lot, although the guitar chart is a lot of fun. I was thinking of doing this one too. If you decide not to finish it let me know.
March 20, 2017 at 5:00 pm #482962Any post-RB3 release with prominent keys.
This.
March 20, 2017 at 6:26 pm #482968I remember the horrible drum chart the only RB3-era Toto song has. What should have been the highlight of the song became a rather mediocre letdown.

Speaking of bad drum charts, Midnight Oil’s “Power and the Passion”. The chart constantly alternates between the standard drum kit and whatever that percussion instrument is, which made the third verse a giant pain in the ass.

If you’re referring to “Rosanna” I totally agree. The ghost notes in that song give the song its feel.

Had to watch a video to remind myself. Wow, that third verse is an absolute horror. The rest of the chart is also a clear violation of HMX’ own RBN rules and guidelines.

That’s the one I meant. I should really get around to fixing that up and put it into the Harmonies project the moment RB3 servers go offline.
