What in your opinion, is a DLC release that can be considered a bad release or annoying?

The most disappointing release for me was Foreigner’s “Feels like the First Time”. I love the song, but it was huge letdown to discover they used the shorter single edit. Lots of songs in Rock Band are shorter than their original album versions, but “Feels like the First Time” was especially butchered.
The second-most disappointing was the Foo Fighters’ “Something from Nothing”, the first release where keys fans began to realize something was amiss…

March 17, 2017 at 7:14 am #482808I don’t want to call this worst, but the pack(s) I was most disappointed in were the Queen packs. No fault of anyones… it is just that the songs were overall (except for a couple) not very fun for me to play on guitar. And for a band where guitars are featured, that really surprised me.

Queen songs are definitely more fun on vocals and keys than anything, imo, aside from a few decent drum tracks (Stone Cold Crazy and Under Pressure come to mind). I like Tenement Funster a lot too, bit of an underrated Queen track.

That just reminded me. I remember when we got Black Magic Woman….. but just* Black Magic Woman. It’s one of those thing I knew, but didn’t expect Harmonix to do. Most radio stations play the version of the song that is actually “Black Magic Woman” AND “Gypsy Queen” all as one (same fashion that the commonly heard version of Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2 is actually “Happiest Day’s of our Lives” and “Another Brick….”.
When I was playing the song and it just ended….. I was upset even though I technically should have known that was going to happen. Just not too often I’d ever* hear that song without Gypsy Queen playing after.
That was a big reason when I released my C3 Journey pack… I charted out Feeling That Way and Anytime separately…. and then also released a joint single-song version. I don’t think I’ve ever heard one without the other after.
March 17, 2017 at 2:04 pm #482816The one I remember being most disappointed in was when The Offspring’s “Days Go By” was released as DLC. When it was just that song, I knew we were never getting anything else from them for the life of RB3. I liked the single, but they botched it and used some demo version or something which just sounds worse overall.

I felt a little retarded for a second not even knowing where the full editor was

Well that release has technically described how the future releases would be mostly terrible lmao
March 17, 2017 at 3:03 pm #482820Oh yeah I forgot to mention, another release I thought was terrible was “I’m Going, I’m Going” by Leslie Roy, and I believe it was on the Country Pack export?
The song was a little meh to me when I first heard it on youtube but then hearing it on rock band gave me a huge surprise. The audio mixing was so terrible I had to quit before the middle of the song to actually stop hearing it. That was just awful to hear and I never want to hear that mix again.

Another reason why I hated the pop DLC for RB4.

Very likely Harmonix used DIY stems instead of the official stems from the song author(s).

Harmonix would always put down “As Made Famous By” if they did DIY stems such as War Pigs “As Made Famous By” Black Sabbath

Yeah that one disappointed me as well. Honestly “Gypsy Queen” is the best part of “Black Magic Woman”.
Another one that bugs me is when they release the original version of a cover and title it like “Limelight (Original Version)”. What I think should have been emphasized is the cover version rather than the original because now it doesn’t look flush when you have the rest of the album and such.
March 18, 2017 at 12:05 am #482852All the songs done by cover bands we paid for “pretty much suck” !
