want to get “real” pedal for my drums

hey guys. figured i’d do this here.
I have these drums:

it’s great for my small place, and I have no complaints other than the pedals. they feel like game pedals, not like real drum pedals. before getting this kit, I had the Beatles Limited Edition set, to which I had added a Pearl P-900 and the KP65 trigger (is that what it’s called?) this worked great and felt like a real drum pedal. then I got this set and sold those two figuring i wouldn’t need them.
I hate the pedals on this, the springs have gone soft, I cut one to make it stiffer, but it’s still not the best action. i feel like it’s hindering my ability to get better at pedaling. so I want to get a “real” pedal set up again. but i need something I can use with this kit.
what would you recommend? should I go back to the P900 + KP65? or???
KP65 ftw. Chose a pedal that uses a chain. If you have the money, buy a double pedal: buying a single pedal and then adding one in the future can be a pain.
KP65 with an Axis – preferably a longboard. I can sell you my old regular AAX if you like

jeez Nyx, that’s quite a pedal huh. I’m not sure the missus would approve of that much being spent on what is essentially a gaming accessory for me
but i’ll definitely think about it. I know i was happy with the P900 + KP65, so that may be what I end up with unless you guys have something else in around the same price range. no sense is spending $400+ on this when I bought my whole drum kit for $400 used

That Axis pedal looks pretty cool, and definitely beats the HD1 pedals, but I think you’d be fine with your old P900 (I use one too – cheap & solid!) and whatever decent sensor you can find on the ‘Bay – KP65, KD-8, KD-9, yadda, yadda.
And that was a pretty nice deal you got on the kit. Those things are a little on the small side, but very fun.
My only thought is this: how are you going to use a pedal/sensor with the HD1? I don’t remember the stand being terribly configurable. Can the original pedal be physically removed? It’s been a while since I noodled around with that kit, but I don’t remember seeing much potential for upgrading without some hacking. Just something to think about before you start spending.

at least, that was my idea. i’ll go by my local music store and see how it works out since they still have some used HD1s for sale last I checked.

Because the beater is nothing like what you have right now.
