Every now and then I see people complain about how a weekly C3 release doesn’t include some songs, or does include something you don’t like. I’ve decided to make this very simple, easy-to-follow step-by-step guide for what to do if one of C3’s authors overlooks one of your favorite songs, or has charted something you very clearly don’t enjoy.
Step 1 – Get over it.
Step 2 – That’s actually it.
I realize this isn’t going to be easy for some of you. I realize that each week C3 doesn’t put out that song you really like is as a dagger to your heart, that each week they knock out yet another Queensrÿche song is like a deep betrayal that rocks you to your very core. But y’know what? Shut up! It doesn’t matter!
If they chart something you don’t like, it’s remarkably, embarrassingly easy not to download it. Just don’t click the link! Don’t download the file! Don’t load up your Xbox 360 drive browser software, avoid dragging the file over, and when you pop the drive into your console you’ll find it’s not in your song library! You have the power! I believe in you!
If they don’t chart something you’ve been wanting for a while, you can either exercise patience or you can get cracking on charting it yourself. I would love, love to see some songs by The Feeling wind up on C3 in the future, or some more songs by the Fratelli’s, but I accept that it probably won’t happen any time soon, and as I don’t have the sort of free time needed to chart a song (not to mention I’ve no idea what I’m doing) I’ll just have to wait and hope. Until then there are literally thousands of other songs for me to browse, download and enjoy both on C3 and on the Rock Band store.
Pissing and moaning about the lack of x or the presence of y doesn’t help a single person in this community. If you want to express that frustration, you are welcome to write down your grievances on a piece of paper and then flush it down the toilet. I promise you this will yield better results than moaning about it here.
Thanks for your time.

Good points, however I would also like to stress that constructive criticism on the charts themselves are good and if you do notice something objectively wrong in any of our charts, please report it in the Bug Tracker linked to at the top of the forum so we can fix it.August 18, 2014 at 11:03 pm #427357Hi. August 18, 2014 at 11:23 pm #427361Very good point, NL, and I’ve added it to the OP.
August 19, 2014 at 12:56 am #427369I agree with this 100%. you do not have to download a song you don’t like. doing that is like going to the store and buying something you don’t even want!
August 19, 2014 at 3:03 pm #427402Do people really bitch about free songs being released that they don’t like?!?!?
Serious question. Whenever I check the blog or C3 release discussion I see people praising for the most part.
I guess constructive criticism is nice as long as people are not adamant about putting down someone else’s hard work.
August 19, 2014 at 3:27 pm #427406Seems silly to complain. THESE SONGS ARE FREE!! Just be thankful C3 and others in the custom community are keeping this game we love alive with new content. I’m thankful for any content whether I download it or not.

Yes. Trolls are live and well and breeding as we speak.
August 20, 2014 at 6:57 pm #427463I’m not a charter and I love the sentiment of the OP. Rock on! m/
The Queensrÿche line was pure gold.

Fun fact: Queensrÿche songs make up a whopping 87% of C3 releases! It’s true! I know it’s true because I made it up myself.

I was hoping for so much more from this thread, 1) that should have been 83% for a HIMYM reference, 2) the OP should have just said “Don’t.”
not that i mean to complain ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
