How do vocal percussions animations work, exactly? I have a song with claps charted on 1, 2, 3, 4, but when I tested, the chart looks fine – with hits on 1, 2, 3, 4 – but the singer animation only claps on 1, 3. What can I do to fix that? Let me know if you need more info. Thanks in advance!

Interesting. Also weird. What are they synced to, the beat? Is there any known way to make the clapping animation faster?
March 6, 2020 at 2:56 am #510069If anything, you can change the intensity of the animation if you set them between [mellow], [play], and [intense].
This can also vary depending on the genre or animation template and speed of the song you’re playing.
And yes, the song tempo.
That’s about as far as it can go, though.

Midi note C6, “displayed percussion”, if you want the player to clap/tap along. C#6 for only animations. Don’t forget to insert the text events!
March 7, 2020 at 7:38 pm #510121In my experience, nothing factors into the animations; sometimes they’ll clap on every beat, sometimes only 2 and 4, and even sometimes commit the cardinal sin of clapping on 1 and 3. The percussion notes don’t actually factor in the animations on the on-stage performer and haven’t since RB1.

Ah, there’s one thing that interferes with the animations, (from what I’ve noticed) really: the camera cuts.
I’ll elaborate: like you said, sometimes happens that the character is clapping to 1 and 3, then bam! Camera angle shifts and there’s the vocalist clapping to 2 and 4. I haven’t taken note of which camera cues affect it, but it’s there!
To the OP: of course, this makes the character desync with the beat sometimes, but it’s a thing of the game, nothing unnatural, I’d say.
March 7, 2020 at 8:42 pm #510123Ah, alright then. Thanks for answering, all! Bummer that we can’t control something so seemingly simple. It would look great in the song I’m working on if the singer could clap when I tell him to! After all, I know the close up of the kick drum is synced to the notes. Seems silly that the vocal percussion wouldn’t be…
I’ll just do my best to cut away from the singer so it doesn’t look so stupid. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Not at all! Sometimes it’s the thought that counts.
