One of my previous threads stated a problem I had where CAT functions would not do anything after importing a MIDI.
I HAVE DISCOVERED MY PROBLEM
CAT refuses to make changes to a chart or even load if the chart has more than one tempo marker in it. I am unsure of any fix I can do because it basically means 90% of my charts have to be manually authored from scratch (reductions)
October 12, 2019 at 3:27 pm #507463Hate to break it to ya, but this is not the problem.
Virtually every one of my charts have multiple tempo markers, and CAT works just fine on all of them.
I don’t know what is causing your specific issue, but it’s not multiple tempo markers.
October 12, 2019 at 5:03 pm #507464So if I understand right, this was your experiment:
1) Download a fresh C3 template (ie, don’t use one you have saved any personal changes to)
2) Load this template
3) Run CAT. Success.
4) Add one tempo marker.
5) Run CAT. Success.
6) Add a second tempo marker.
7) Run CAT. Failure.
Is that right? If you took exactly these steps, no more and no less, and had exactly these outcomes, then the problem has to be something wrong with your installation somewhere. Reaper or python or path names or permissions or version mismatches or something. I can’t imagine what. Multiple tempo markers are the norm. We all have that situation and CAT still works fine.
October 13, 2019 at 1:06 pm #507471Unsure about the C3 template. I’m using the template in the RBN Tools download (RBN2 template)

As soon as more than one tempo marker is in REAPER, CAT stops working.
October 14, 2019 at 12:59 am #507480Well like Dash said, the tempo marker cannot be the problem. It’s a symptom of something else wrong with your setup.
October 14, 2019 at 2:55 pm #507483Well I took everybody’s advice on the forums.
I have REAPER (4.22 both 32-bit and 64-bit)
I have the latest version of CAT from the forums
I have Python 2.6
What can I have done wrong?
October 15, 2019 at 12:31 pm #507490Assuming your projects are not the problem now, then you’re into troubleshooting your setup. Have you tried it with Python 2.7? I can’t imagine this is the problem but I have 2.7. If you are using 32-bit Reaper are you using 32-bit Python?
October 15, 2019 at 2:45 pm #507493Ok so now I downloaded Python 2.7 and it’s missing python27.dll
October 15, 2019 at 3:00 pm #507494What’s missing python27.dll? Can you start the python2.7 command line from the windows menu?
October 27, 2019 at 2:46 pm #507631I mean the python27.dll file does not exist. It did not come with the download

Can you post a link to what you downloaded to install Python?
October 31, 2019 at 3:47 pm #507674Can you post a link to what you downloaded to install Python?
October 31, 2019 at 4:12 pm #507676If it were me, I would go to this page: https://www.python.org/downloads/release/python-2717/
and grab the Windows x86 MSI installer. If you don’t get a DLL after installation, then it is a problem with how you installed it. Maybe antivirus prevented the DLL from being extracted. I have no idea, but this installer worked for me.
However I still think that your problem is something getting screwed up with your projects since sometimes CAT does run for you. We were doing some testing of another project that was causing errors similar to yours and the problem ended up being illegal notes. Have you ever sent one of your problematic projects to another author to see if a) they can get their CAT installation to work on it, or if they can spot why CAT isn’t running?
