Hey Guys,
Sorry if there is another thread about this already…I have been searching for a little while but haven’t found one specific to this. First, I only began using the custom songs about a month ago, and wow, it is awesome! Thank you to all the ppl who put in the hard work to get these songs in there. Never imagined I’d be able to play Pink Floyd, or Mr Bungle, or Tool on Rock Band.
So, the problem I am having is that I downloaded roughly 130 custom songs, but there are about 25 or so that won’t load during a set and get skipped over. All of those songs do show up on my song list, but do not play any audio or show an any album art when you highlight it.
Any idea what I need to do? I saw some threads about deleting a cache, but that is only for Xbox, not PS3. I also saw alot of threads about song IDs, but wasn’t sure if that’s the issue here or not since it does show up on the song list. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you converted a legacy C3 custom (Or a community song that has a known working PS3 version); I would suggest to try the PS3 version instead which all links are in the legacy database for the PS3 version.
July 18, 2017 at 2:52 am #487964Ok, good info, thanks. It does seem like most of the songs that I’ve been having problems with are in the legacy section. That can’t be a coincidence. Although, I have been making my songs.dta file by keeping all my CON files saved in a folder and I just make a new package when I add songs. Seems like the simplest way. The issue is that when I download the legacy version, I don’t get a CON file, so how would I add that song to the package? Would I have to do that manually (copy/paste) through the CON tools or is there another way?
July 18, 2017 at 3:55 am #487971Simply follow the folder structure by merging all the DTA entries and all the song folders (those with the abreviated names; the one paired with the dta) in the HMXxxxx folder. Merging the DTA files is as easy as opening the DTA with notepad and pasting the entire entry of the song to the end of the HMXxxxx DTA file.
If you delete old versions manually make sure you also delete their DTA entry from the HMXxxxx DTA file. Also make sure that whenever you make changes to a working DTA file; you make a backup in case something gets messed up.
You can also use the Merging tool that is bundled with the PS3 converter. To be honest I’m not entirely sure how it works precisely; so you’re on your own on this one; I do it manually.
