I was hoping someone could help me. All of a sudden when I turn my game on, after all the songs load (from the flash drive), whenever it gets to the “Loading New Downloadable Content” part, it freezes. I definitely do not have close to 3000 songs yet. I thought it may have been the song total so I deleted a bunch of old songs and it still doesn’t work. I also deleted all of the new imported songs to just one (did it twice with two separate songs) and it froze. Basically, all of a sudden it does not want to import any more new songs into the game. I deleted all new songs, turned it on and it was fine.

Has anybody experienced this or know what to do about it? I’d hate to think I’m done with playing any more new songs that come out.

    Thank you very much, everybody.

Maybe the device you are loading songs from is corrupted in some way?

So either my computer or the flash drive? Not impossible, but it’s just strange that it’s all of a sudden.

Do you have RBHP? And if so, did you update for all of the songs? I was having the same problem for a while, then I went back and did the RBHP only for songs that I had, and that fixed the problem (havnt had it since)

    No, I don’t have RBHP.

Delete the songcache file and try again. Or perhaps load that songcache file into Setlist manager and see if it can read it correctly, or if any songs stand out as causing a problem.

I deleted the song cache file and turned the game on again and it still froze when loading the one new song I had. It can’t be the song; I actually tried two or three different ones.

Actually, my bad. I didn’t really delete the cache file the first time, and so I did delete it from the Xbox, rebooted the game and now it just sits on the main menu and won’t start loading anything. Did deleting the cache do that? I was sure the cache would rebuild itself but just eliminate all previous scores.

Cache should rebuild itself immediately. Something else seems to be wrong, sorry. Hopefully someone else will have a solution.

Well after multiple reboots, it finally started regenerated all the songs, including the new one. Safe to say the cache rebuild worked like a charm, except I lost all my band scores/data in the process. All worth it to continue on with new songs though. I appreciate all the pointers, gang.

Scores and band data are stored in the user profile files (whatever they’re called), not the songcache, so you might try signing out and signing back in with your usual gamertag, they might still be there, you never know. But at least its working again! Good stuff.
