After watching pksage’s video, I decided to give authoring a try. I finished my tempo mapping, vocals, and instrument charts, but when I decided to build it in magma I get that message. I’ve scrubbed the net and haven’t found a solution, so I decided to wave the white flag. I have some screens for helps.

You need to read the authoring docs. Every song needs EVENTS and BEAT tracks. The basic ones are included in the C3 and RBN2 templates, so i’m wondering what you’re using that doesn’t include it.

I’ve read the docs, and I’m using the RB3 template. The event track has everything where it should be, it’s not muted, but Magma won’t detect it. There is not enough info available for me to figure this one out.

make sure the EVENTS track is a track name event and not a text event. also make sure the end and music_end events are text events, not lyrics.

Ah man I thought you had it there but all three were correct. Also, now Magma just gives me a “no instrument charts found” error.

make sure when exporting the MIDI that you’re exporting to the right place and feeding the right file to Magma. also make sure you don’t have any track name event in the EVENTS track.

OH YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME

I was merging the midi into a single track before exporting.

When I tried it the first time, I mistakenly thought that meant the audio was multitrack, not the midi.

Well I appreciate your help. I was about 10 minutes from saying fuck it.

Hopefully I won’t get stuck again and my next post is the completed track.
