There used to be some Porcupine Tree charts with pro guitar/bass, where’d they go?

Songs like Anesthetize, Open Car, etc. I see these songs in the database but they don’t have pro.

Incidentally I tried one of them, and while in visualizer it doens’t say pro, ingame thinks it has pro. But it doesn’t really becuase when you try to play it, the game freezes, since there’s probably no chart.

They aren’t official DLC; there are still non-pro versions on the database. Does anyone know where the versions with pro guitar/bass are? I used to have them but my usb died

Just downloaded Anesthetize from the database and Visualizer does show Pro charting on guitar and bass, but the filesize is different from my older copy (smaller by almost 200 k:cool:. The midi file inside does have pro chart midi tracks and is identical to the midi file inside my CON file. I can send you my files if you give me a full list of the ones you want.

Hmm, well Anesthetize is the one I tried. It shows pro bass/guitar tiers but when it tries to load the song ingame, it freezes. I wonder why.

Anyway I’d love to get (actually working with pro guitar/bass) copies of Time Flies, Arriving Somewhere But Not Here, Anesthetize, Deadwing, Fear of a Blank Planet, Open Car, Shallow… honestly I love them all lol. Not sure which ones actually have pro/bass at all, but I’d appreciate anything.

Here‘s my entire Porcupine Tree pack. I checked in-game and all pro guitar and pro bass tracks work.

Thanks a bunch! I’ll try to load them in later, I am unfortunately not at home at the moment.

Any idea if these will over-write the individual tracks I mentioned before? They weren’t a pack. I guess it depends on the song ID? Well I’ll see later.

Hope the Pro Guitar/Bass charts work for you iammax. I’m the person who compiled all of Meander’s charts for those songs years ago and didn’t actually test in game if they worked or not. When Magma allowed me to compile those pro charts, that was my quality check since I don’t play Pro Guitar/Bass. Whizzer is claiming they do work so that is good news. Are those Pro charts accurate? I have no clue.

Now that you mentioned it, I believe I downloaded these in your thread a long time ago. I just recently downloaded the versions from beard in the database, and those are the ones that didn’t seem to work. I guess his versions are derived from yours? No idea. But thanks to everyone involved, of course.

I probably won’t be able to check if Whizzer’s link works for a few weeks, as my Xbox stays at my parent’s house, and I only visit them once or twice a month nowadays. But next time, I’ll check and post back in this thread.

As to accuracy… heck if I know. I don’t really play guitar, I just play pro in the game sometimes (very poorly!). I should probably make the jump…

Okay, I snuck in a bit of time before I left my parent’s house. Open Car and Shallow both worked on pro guitar, at least. Although I hadn’t tested those to see if they DIDN’T work previously.

I wanted to test Anesthetize, since it’s the only one I actually checked (and it failed) before making this thread, but it didn’t show up ingame. I had de-packed (using con tools) about 10 songs from that large pack Whizzer posted and put them on my RB3 USB. A few didn’t show up, but I think it’s due to the 3000 song limit, which I am very close to. For the first time in my life the game yelled at me about the 3000 song limit and said some things may not show up, so I assume that’s why some of these didn’t.

I had also deleted the rb3con files for the previous (beard) versions of the PT songs I had on the stick. They had different filenames than the ones that con tools generated, but I think some may have shared song ids, becuase a few of the whizzer versions had a score present. I think the game will give it a score if you got a score with another file with the same song id, even if the filename is different? I’m just guessing, but that seems likely to be the case.

Edit: Cleaned up my song cache a bit. All the songs show up. I tried Anesthetize, it also worked on pro guitar. Everything seems good. Thanks!

As a side note, any idea if there are any differences in these charts vs beard’s version besides pro guitar (differences on any instrument, only caring about expert)

Edit2: Actually, there’s a rather large problem with Anesthetize. This whole section:

      https://youtu.be/MSEQZ8reJA4?t=400

From the timestamp (400 seconds) until the vocals come back seems broken. The game shows them as open mute chords but they clearly aren’t if you listen, as the pitch changes frequently. Additionally, for open chords (i.e. ones with no number ingame) you should not hold any frets, but that doesn’t work. I tried holding some frets that “seemed” about right and some of them even worked. I think the chart is expecting certain chords, but for some reason they are not showing up visually, so it’s impossible to tell what you need to do.

This is with chord number both on and off.

Thanks for the feedback. I would be willing to fix these Pro Guitar issues but don’t have the knowledge as of now to do so.

IIRC missing fret hand positions can lead to fret numbers being displayed as 0 in-game if the fret number of a gem got too much higher than whatever FHP was currently in effect. You can always import the MIDI into EOF and see what those look like (Track>Rocksmith>Fret hand positions>List).

          #503823

They aren’t displayed as 0 ingame, they’re displayed as nothing. Like those empty notes that you are supposed to be able to press any fret for

Anyway, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Considering that these pro guitar versions don’t even seem to be on the database, I’m probably the only one who will ever notice lol

If even a single note within a chord is marked as muted note, the game shows the entire chord as being muted. Just a possibility.

That’s most likely the root cause here.

I can provide a quick fix, but probably the entire chart could use a thorough check.
