I picked All Falls Down not only due to my personal attachment to the song but because it is a very important song to hip hop. AFD was the 3rd single from Kanye’s Grammy winning debut album The College Dropout, the first two singles being Slow Jamz (I’m not charting Twista’s vocals lol) and Through the Wire (great song, not for RB imo). AFD is a song with a lot of emphasis on self-consciousness, which was next to unheard of in mainstream hip hop at that time (50 Cent and G-Unit ruled the charts in 03-05). It features a soul sample of a Lauryn Hill song, another prominent hip hop artist who’s catalog dealt with more introspective emotions. For RB, it has acoustic guitar throughout, a solid bass line, solid drums and rap vocals interspersed with singing vocals so it’d be interesting. Gold Digger and Stronger just don’t have that playability factor past vocals/keys.
September 20, 2014 at 11:26 am #429568So the main reason I chose my song was due to a friend of mine. I sometimes referred to her as “That girl with 5 colours in her hair”. She and I were really close friends around the time this song came out. We would listen to it constantly and dance around in the bedroom singing our hearts out. She would always have random colours in her hair that always caught people’s attention. So in memory of her, I have chosen this song.
Living on the other side of the planet is such a bummer sometimes. Miss that girl so much.
October 1, 2014 at 10:55 am #430234I’d like to (finally) get Crystalised out the door, and I think it would fit really well here. It’s a very popular song, and it has multitracks & pro guitar/bass. It’ll be low-stress for me, too, since it’s already finished except for harmonies and venue.
October 8, 2014 at 5:14 am #430652I’ll come in with “Too Many Puppies” by Primus.
November 10, 2014 at 8:00 pm #432617Are you still looking for submissions for this pack? I have the GH5 version of Sultans of Swing and I think that qualifies as an “exceptional song.” There have been a few attempts and versions of the song floating around but I will be doing a conversion “from scratch” to make sure its as good as it can be.

I can happily share my day. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>
November 10, 2014 at 9:54 pm #432634I think I might be doing a song as well, so I might need to share a day too.
November 11, 2014 at 5:23 am #432665Would a convert of “The Infection” by Disturbed be good enough for an entry on my end? I could definitely write a paragraph about Disturbed being my favorite band and this song being the only GH Disturbed song that didn’t make it to RB. Also:
-Being really famous (i.e. last year’s criterion) The song is more of a deep cut from the album, but Disturbed is really famous, and most of their other well-known songs are AORB
-Being mildly famous with an important personal story that sets it apart from a normal release of that song Disturbed’s my favorite band. I can whip up a good tale.
-Being mildly famous with ties to music gaming, Rock Band, or Harmonix in some other way that we can sell as an engaging, interesting blog post As above, only GH Disturbed song that didn’t get an RB release. I also can work RB into aforementioned tale in several ways.
-Having an over-the-top fun or engaging instrument part, ideally multiple instruments, with the song ideally accompanied by a live gameplay video for that instrument or something else exceptionally highlighting that chart I wouldn’t say it’s over the top, but it is a fun song. Even more so after I clean up the charts.
If this is a doable option, it may be what pushes me to actually do the convert this year. If not, I’ll still release the song, but it would be in 2015 after some of my other projects are done.
November 12, 2014 at 2:01 pm #432719with PRO of course!
Sure sure. The Zombies – “Time of the Season”
November 16, 2014 at 2:34 am #432982It has been suggested to me that maybe I should contribute Hoobastank’s “The Reason” for the 12 days. I would be honored to do so, but it would actually be something of a bastardization collaboration of my nearly complete version with some beautiful (but orphaned) G/B/D charts from Gigakoops. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” /> If anyone sees this as violating the spirit of the event, please let me know – I’m just looking to put the best charts out there.

The only part that was arguable is the guitar choruses I think. Plus, once an author isn’t interested anymore in working with the collective and kindly shares what he has done, it’s fair game, provided credits are given.

Things just got really busy for me at work so I am not going to add it to the schedule until I know I have time.
December 6, 2014 at 7:36 pm #433987Put me down for Crazy Bitch by Buckcherry.
I don’t particularly like the song, but I’ve started charting it as a Christmas present to the other people I play with because they really DO like the song. I guess that fits with the spirit of the season and whatnot.
I’ve got the Jammit multitracks and have already finished tempo mapping and completed the drum chart. There is no issue with me having this ready in time.
December 9, 2014 at 1:07 am #434074So guys, December 13th is the first day of 12 Days. With Genesis and all we kinda lost track of things a bit so we haven’t planned this year’s release as well as we should have. For that reason we need to know if you want to leave comments to publish with your song’s reveal. If you do, please PM me your message and we’ll include in the blog post/forum post. We really love that authors get recognition from our user base so please do take the time to introduce yourself, if it’s your first time in the 12 Days release, or refresh the memory of your users if it is not. Stats and polls confirm that they like knowing you better so open up!
Make sure that your song is in a videorecordable state 2 days before its reveal date. We’re gonna publish the release calendar in a bit, if you ABSOLUTELY can’t make it by the date you’ve been assigned please advise but we can’t promise anything. Admins are exempt from this: if an admin has any issue please tell me (to cut down times I have not coordinated with them beforehand, that’s why the exemption).
Finally, remember that if you chose a non-very popular song you’ll be paired with another author who did.
December 9, 2014 at 1:19 am #434075I’m adding the main songs to lay out the schedule, secondary songs (or other songs bumped up to primary) will come later, those can be added to later dates to the scheduler if needed anyway):
