Harmonix told us way back in the Rock Band 1 days to expect the Who’s Next album in its entirety as DLC. Well due to a problem finding the masters and their insistence on only working with multitracks, over half the album never got delivered.

The songs that we did get are:

    Baba O’Riley

    Going Mobile

    Behind Blue Eyes

    Won’t get Fooled Again

The songs they never gave us from that album are:

    Bargain

    Love Ain’t for Keeping

    My Wife

    The Song Is Over

    Getting In Tune

Harmonix told us it was one of the greatest rock albums of all time and I already knew they were correct. But I was so bummed when they weren’t able to deliver.

It would be amazing if someone was able to complete their promised work now that the multitrack master policy is no longer a roadblock.

Thank you all for your amazing work. It’s breathed new life into my favorite game!

I guess technically it was a broken promise, but it strikes me more of a good faith effort that didn’t pan out.

Anyway, the only other song I’d really want off the album is “Bargain,” though any Who is welcome.

Now if someone gives me “a Quick One While She’s Away”…

I don’t have any ill will towards them, please don’t misunderstand my tone. I know the situation they were in and it was understandable since they weren’t able to get the masters.

I wouldn’t quite call it “good faith effort” though, that’s underselling it. They made the announcement that the entire album was definitely going to be DLC. It was announced before the game even released as a bit of enticement for potential buyers. It wasn’t merely “good faith effort”.

But like I said, I don’t harbor any ill will towards them at all.

But since “must have access to master tracks to do song charts” is no longer a requirement, I’m just hoping someone is willing to hook it up.

I would absolutely love the rest of this album..or pretty much anything from The Who with awesome harmonies that we don’t have.

This is also coming out soon

Quadrophenia would be awesome to have on RB.

I may not like every song by The Who but my #1 most favorite song is by The Who so I support more Who songs no matter what for sure!
