Tour Mode is all I asked from the game, looking forward to test it.

October 7, 2015 at 5:28 am #457041This game does feel incomplete. It seems like it’s a RB4 beta that will be patched into a real game later. Song select screen is a joke and gives way less info about the songs than RB3. Character creator is really a joke with very limited facial styles and options for your character. Very disappointing. Tour mode is ok but very much like RB2, and I don’t know where people got this “RPG” thing from that everyone used to describe the tour. The decisions you make really don’t change much about your tour which is contraryto what we kept hearing, and really you can play it about 3 times and get all the different branches of story. Doesn’t seem like there’s much replay value there. Also only 20-30 cities is kinda low. Give us every major city in the world. But I hope they expand on tour mode later with more cities or varying types of gameplay options or band options. Also no vocal overdrive activation using a controller on ps4. They added that in rb3 to remedy issues with activation with your voice which still is an issue in rb4 sometimes, so the dropping of that feature is truly mind boggling. The game I’m sure will end up being awesome when these things are addressed. Honestly though I believe a delay was needed for further enhancement of the game and it’s features.
October 7, 2015 at 7:25 am #457042I’m surprised no one has mentioned the MASSIVE vocal lag. It’s so bad you have to turn the mic all the way down or you’re hearing yourself nearly a second late. I thought maybe it was just me but there are posts about it all over the place and, apparently, it’s a problem on both systems. I feel like I just paid $250+ to alpha test a Rock Band game. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />
October 7, 2015 at 10:24 am #457043For those who played: did you notice a lag for the guitar freestyle solos?

We noticed it yesterday. This is the worst of the many issues RB4 has and it definitely hurts the enjoyment of the game for me. I hope there is a fix soon.

But there was no lag for freestyle drum fills or guitar freestyle solos?
October 7, 2015 at 2:42 pm #457053The lag for seemingly everything kills this game. Makes me think a current gen rythym game just isn’t possible to be enjoyable if the timing windows are massively opened up.
October 7, 2015 at 3:11 pm #457059Maybe it’s a me thing, but we’re not having lag issues.
I had to manually calibrate, as auto-calibration was way off. I also output audio via optical directly to my sound bar, TV is on game mode and sound bar is on passthrough so no processing. We also play with vocals lowered since I can hear my wife just fine without it needing to go through the TV. Maybe some or a combination of all of that makes lag be the one thing about this game i’m not bothered by.

If you turn up the vocal volume, do you get the 300 ms lag everybody else is reporting?
October 7, 2015 at 3:35 pm #457063I’ll have to test when i’m home tonight. I’ll report back then.
October 7, 2015 at 3:56 pm #457066Harmonix has responded to complains about the vocal lag via their official forums. They ask that you submit a detailed report through their bug tracker so they can address the issue.

And, yes, there are tons of complaints about the lag in freestyle guitar solos as well. Hopefully they can get these problems fixed before the major patch that’s due in December.
October 7, 2015 at 4:45 pm #457075yeah, not fixing actual bugs/issues in the game until a patch on december 6th (2 whole months after the game is out) is completely unacceptable. they better not wait that long to fix these things. i am really appreciative they were able to offer us most/all of our previous DLC and instrument compatibility but it seems like Harmonix just bit off more than they can chew here.
