September 23, 2014 at 8:48 am #429740Question: Let’s say I want to chart “Be Good Johnny” by Men at Work. (I did this once in EoF as a Rocksmith custom, so I am familiar with the song.) Is my best bet to purchase the MIDI at a place like this: http://www.hittraxmidi.com/men-at-work/ … hnny-midi/ ? are there better places to buy midi tracks to start from (if I dont want to chart something someone already started but am a beginner)?
I missed this post, sorry. I usually hit these places:
http://www.songgalaxy.com (they let you download a demo file, however watch out because more often than not it’s missing any tempo map)
http://www.backingtracksworld.com/ (they let you download a demo file)
http://www.midi-hits.com (more geared towards US and with more files)
November 22, 2014 at 5:48 am #433360When you’re adding “Guitarist Sing Along†to the venue track is it in parentheses, quotations, or alone?
November 22, 2014 at 5:51 am #433361Neither. It’s a note that you draw on the VENUE track.
Sing-Alongs
– 87 D#5 = makes the guitarist sing along (or keys in the absence of guitar)

Thank you I’ll give it a shot. This is my first attempt at tinkering with the venue so we shall see ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
November 22, 2014 at 6:10 am #433363Do they have to match every note they’re sing along to or can you make one long not over the phrase for the sing along?

January 5, 2015 at 1:38 am #435675I don’t know where this would go but I thought I’d ask here. How simple do you think it would be to author on a Wii. I don’t have RB3 for the 360 but I have the modded Wii. I want to try to author but I don’t know how to start whilst having a wii.
January 5, 2015 at 1:40 am #435676You don’t author for the Wii. You author for the Xbox 360, then use Wii Converter in C3 CON Tools to convert the Xbox file to Wii format.
January 5, 2015 at 1:45 am #435677What would be the best way to test the songs without having my 360 capable of playing the customs?
January 5, 2015 at 1:48 am #435678Testing and playing is the same thing. Convert it to Wii and test on the Wii.
January 5, 2015 at 2:01 am #435681Ah Gotcha. I’ve been wanting to get into authoring since finding you guys. Figured to try to give it a shot.
February 24, 2015 at 11:19 pm #439243Hello.
I have a question. I have been reading this tutorial. This part is where I have my question:
14 Exporting
and CON Production
14.1 Exporting
You are now ready to export your work! You will need 4 things: – A 44 KHz, 16-bit, stereo WAV file for the entire song
– A 44 KHz, 16-bit
, stereo mute WAV file for the entire song
– A 16 KHz, 16-bit, mono WAV file for the entire song for dry vox (if
you want to do proper lip sync, read the Dry vox focus
)
– A MIDI file
14.1.1 Turn off all instrument plug ins. Then, shorten all MIDI tracks for that they
are all of the same length, taking care of not shortening so much that the
[end] event in the Events track gets cut off. Having all MIDI tracks of the
same length allows you to render the audio at a proper length.
14.1.2 With all plug ins turned off, to avoid clicker and MIDI sounds being
rendered out, select File > Render and use the settings you see in the
picture. This is gonna be the main audio.
14.1.3 Now mute all audio tracks and re-render to a new file: this is gonna be the
muted audio track (if you’re curious, read the Why do we need a muted
track? focus).
14.1.4 Now render audio the Dry vox file: use the above settings for that.
14.1.5 Finally, File > Export project MIDI to export the MIDI: make sure to use
the settings you see in the picture, specifically the Embed tempo map and
Multitrack MIDI file checkboxes.
14.1.6 You are now ready to go through Magma…
There isn’t any picture in this tutorial, so If you can show the settings for rendering It will be excellent.
Thanks
February 25, 2015 at 2:46 am #439249Main settings you need to make sure of (a lot are default anyways)…
Sample rate 44100 Hz
Channels Stereo
Output Format .WAV
WAV bit depth 16 or 24 PCM
Note about the wave depth: Magma for C3 will accept either 16 or 24 bit depth. However, dryVox files for vocal lipsync NEED to be 16 bit depth. Magma requires that all sound files are the same depth. Thus, it’s best practice to use 16 bit, so that you won’t have any issues when working with dryVox.
February 25, 2015 at 3:09 am #439250Eh, dryvox has to be mono, so it’s not like all of the settings are the same.
June 11, 2015 at 7:26 pm #447688I received an error of “[music_start] event in EVENTS track is too early in the track”. I moved the text to the beginning and even removed it. Oh and this was in magma
