Here are hints for some — but not all — of this week’s tracks!

    • This track — penned by an English act — was a big part of the soundtrack for the first in this series of teen-oriented films that would make a 19th-century Irish novelist cringe.
    • This British act, who are making their series debut, was once mistakenly believed to be a Norwegian act by a Canadian. No, this Canadian was not me.
    • Though he never worked in construction, the creative mind behind this track used to work with nails, saws, rads, prongs, helmets, and an assortment of heavy metals — though, oddly, never with lead.
    • These three tracks feature the same title and similar subject matter — but don’t toss and turn trying to figure it out.
    • This track was eventually covered by the person whose vocal stylings it was trying to mirror.
    • Blackmail, Suspicion, Vertigo, Obsession, Misery, and Malice.

Monster Mash confirmed. The singer tried to imitate Boris Karloff, and he liked it so much that he did it himself.

The first clue is probably Muse’s “Supermassive Black Hole”, since it’s a song from an English band and was the first song on the first soundtrack for the first Twilight movie.

The last clue is a list of Alfred Hitchcock films, but I’m unsure of what song could relate to those.

Wait, that’s a song? I always thought that was a cereal or something. Going to have to youtube this

I think only the first few are? I don’t think obsession, misery, or malice are (though they are suspense films).

Does the lead clue point to leadbelly? Wiki says he spent time as a laborer. Maybe nirvana’s cover of “Where Did You Sleep Last Night?”

Apparently, John Bonham used to do some carpentry. So my guess is more Led Zeppelin. (Woo-hoo!) Whole Lotta Love? When The Levee Breaks? Something else? Either way, color me piqued.

Hah, yeah, this sounds a wee bit more likely than my leadbelly guess. My mom still thinks I’m smart.

im guessing muse for the first clue, much like everyone else.

No clue for the others, but here is hoping one of them is Marilyn Mansons cover of this is halloween.

    EDIT

if you google ” Blackmail, Suspicion, Vertigo, Obsession, Misery, and Malice.” the first result is thriller?

so maybe that one is thriller!

If Thriller is coming this Friday then I will probably run the streets of Vienna naked out of joy for a couple of days.

Thriller and Marilyn Mansons cover of “This is Halloween” would be the two Halloween-related songs I’ll get for sure. (I count Thriller Halloween related due to this is the time of year where you hear the song overplayed).

I’m gonna guess “In My Time of Dying” since that is the closest I see to a Halloween themed titled from a google search of “Songs written by John Bonham”.
