Sorry for the delay, folks. I was hoping to have some more/better hints and a thread posted a few hours ago but I got… distracted… by the happenings in my province (not in my town, fortunately). Here are some hints for a subset of the songs (about half) seeing a C3 release this week:
- It seems producers really dig this classic instrumental, as this R&B track has found itself on movie, video game, and television shows over the past 40+ years.
- I’ve always found the funky rhythms of the only big single off this New Wave act’s fourth album somewhat hypnotic, though most of the band’s fans apparently did not agree.
- Not that we expect it to become convention (though we’d love it if it did), this prolific RBN artist becomes the third to author and release a song of theirs through C3.
- Though it would mark the first of this artist’s top ten hits, it was neither the first time nor the last time they would have only a section of a song land in the Billboard Top 40 — or make it to Rock Band.
- This artist, who is not foreign to the Rock Band series, makes their return with a single that helped form part of an unofficial trilogy with their only existing Rock Band track.
- Disco * 2. Fever * 2. Disco * 2. Fever * 2. Reach Down * 2. Rodeo * 2. Reach Down * 2. Hitch Hike * 2. History of the World, Part I. Eddie Murphy being a jackass.

I would freak if this comes out ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
Also are we getting Howard Jones?
June 5, 2014 at 3:55 pm #421821That first hint almost HAS to be Booker T & The MGs’ Green Onions. With a slight chance that it could be Soul Bossa Nova.
June 5, 2014 at 5:01 pm #421825Ha ha that made me laugh so much!
June 5, 2014 at 6:16 pm #421829Also the last one is Lipps Inc – Funkytown, which will go perfectly with Play That Funky Music ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
June 5, 2014 at 7:51 pm #421833The first hint might be Apache from the Sugarhill Gang. I don’t know if the first hint is reffering to a classic R&B instrumental, or a song based on a classic instrumental…
June 5, 2014 at 9:22 pm #421836The first hint might be Apache from the Sugarhill Gang. I don’t know if the first hint is reffering to a classic R&B instrumental, or a song based on a classic instrumental…Definitely not “Apache”, that song came out in ’79, only 35 years ago. The hint says 40+ years.

Would you be able to provide solutions to hints every week (like you did last time)?

Sure, if people are interested. I did it a while back but nobody seemed to comment on them so I didn’t know if there was merit in continuing. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

Ya, its one of those songs that was released around 79-80. Thought the original was released a bit later in the 80’s at first.
June 7, 2014 at 2:17 pm #421955Spoilers for the hints:
It seems producers really dig this classic instrumental, as this R&B track has found itself on movie, video game, and television shows over the past 40+ years.Released in 1962, Green Onions has been featured in films (e.g. The Sandlot, X-Men: First Class, Happy Gilmore, American Graffiti — in 1973, giving the 40+ years rage), TV shows (American Dad, Supernatural), and video games (GTA: San Andreas, Skate).
I’ve always found the funky rhythms of the only big single off this New Wave act’s fourth album somewhat hypnotic, though most of the band’s fans apparently did not agree.Duran Duran’s Notorious was the only B.I.G. hit off that album, and while I found it particularly Hypnotizing, fan reception of the now-three-piece Duran Duran’s fourth album was tepid at best. And yes, the Notorious B.I.G. hint was a bit of a stretch and a bit of a red herring. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>
Not that we expect it to become convention (though we’d love it if it did), this prolific RBN artist becomes the third to author and release a song of theirs through C3.Chaotrope joins The James Rocket and Nightmare Lyra in our crew of former RBN authors and artists releasing their own creations through C3.
Though it would mark the first of this artist’s top ten hits, it was neither the first time nor the last time they would have only a section of a song land in the Billboard Top 40 — or make it to Rock Band.Seriously, just look at the number of Pt. 1/Pt. 2/Pt. 3 songs James Brown has. It’s ridiculous. Of course, this one joins the other James Brown tracks.
This artist, who is not foreign to the Rock Band series, makes their return with a single that helped form part of an unofficial trilogy with their only existing Rock Band track.X Japan’s “Jade”, as explained in the blog post, helps form (and is the last) part of an unofficial trilogy, and joins their RB2 20 Free song.
Disco * 2. Fever * 2. Disco * 2. Fever * 2. Reach Down * 2. Rodeo * 2. Reach Down * 2. Hitch Hike * 2. History of the World, Part I. Eddie Murphy being a jackass. The chorus pattern for Funkytown in Dance Central on Hard. The song was also featured in History of the World, Part I, and Shrek 2, among others.
