November 4, 2013 at 8:12 pm #408857AnonymousAnd I also strongly suggest expanding your musical exposure. Maybe a trip to http://www.rockband.com/songs/ might also help. They have some great stuff in there ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
Nah. I’m good. I only have around 9 songs on my mind that I want to get from RBN and gonna keep it that way most likely. (The songs being by ‘Queen’, ‘The Who’, ‘Poison’, ‘Steve Miller Band’, and ‘Don M.’).
You need to turn your sarcasm detector on. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
I’m never good with sarcasm, lol.
November 4, 2013 at 9:44 pm #408860On he topic of The Rolling Stones, I’d love to see a custom of the studio version of Under My Thumb. Sure there may be a live version on Guitar Hero, but that doesn’t have the marimba part that makes the song so good. Plus the vocals are kind of sloppy. Put it in a pack with Mother’s Little Helper and maybe some other song from Aftermath, and you have a pack I’d download.
What I’m really surprised is that no one has mentioned Pink Floyd. C3 has Time, but what about their other songs? Money! Wish You Were Here! Comfortably Numb! There may be some partial custom songs out there, but I’d die to see a full band version of Wish You Were Here. Other songs too.
November 4, 2013 at 10:34 pm #408862I was going to mention Elvis Presley but somebody did “A Little Less Conversation” so I’ll mention Neil Diamond who should get “Sweet Caroline”.

Yeah, Pink Floyd is another big one….but I didn’t include them since there are a couple customs of them floating around. Sure, they are not up to C3 standards…but at least there is something. I would love proper C3 releases of songs like: Wish You Were Here, Comfortably Numb, Money and Another Brick In The Wall.

I swear, every time I see a beautiful girl I think “Helllllloooo baby” and I have an urge to chart The Big Bopper’s Chantilly Lace. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif”> It’s gotta happen sooner or later.

Chuck Berry perhaps? I mean what kind of weird world do we live in with a game created around simulating guitar playing and we never got Johnny B. Goode anyways?

That would be magic. I would kill for more 50s early rock stuff, especially Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, and Fats Domino.
It sounds like Genesis might be the consensus pick for biggest Rock-Band-type artist without a release.

I used to have that on an old cassette with a bunch of other songs ripped from her aunt’s record collection. I’d probably download it just for that reason.
November 5, 2013 at 5:34 pm #408882SteppenwolfThe Moody Blues
Bachman-Turner Overdrive
Ray Charles
the Kinks
Diana Ross/the Supremes
Velvet Underground
Cream
Buddy Holly
I don’t know any of these artists.
The only one of these I can fathom someone not having heard of is Velvet Underground, as I think a lot of people just credit their stuff to Lou Reed instead of the band. I mean, every single one of those artists are beyond major. I’d have to think you know at two or three songs by every single one if you heard them, if not who performed them.
I am a hardcore early Genesis guy. But I couldn’t even dream of trying the keys parts.

Maybe. *Shrugs*. Though currently I’m not counting them as ‘Legendary’ artists. Could still be major though. (To me, Legendary Artists are the ones that are basicly unique, never forgotten, and pretty much everybody knows right on the top of their head, without question. Example: The Beatles).
November 5, 2013 at 8:35 pm #408887The problem is that different people of different backgrounds don’t know everything you know.
I recently met someone who had never, honestly, heard The Beatles…I then force-fed it to them for a few hours ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
That same moment of “wtf” you probably had at the above statement (but it’s true), is what some of us had when you said you didn’t know who Bill Joel or Ray Charles are, for example. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
November 6, 2013 at 3:07 pm #408900Though I haven’t really been exposed to much of his music, Zappa has an iconic status and his existence in Rock Band could open my eyes a little.
Also
Waylon Jennings
Hank Williams
I know, I know. I hate country too, but I love old honky tonk. Before whatever garbage they started labeling as country happened.
Dr. Hook
Queen
Trooper
The Eagles (though I really do not like that band and I’m aware of the GHtoRB3, but I thought we weren’t counting that or whatever…)
And finally… how the f*ck did Bieber slip through the Harmonix releases?????
(here comes the flaming…)

November 6, 2013 at 4:15 pm #408903I know they aren’t the biggest, but it still kind of strikes me as strange that we have never got any Scorpions. “No One Like You” & “Rock You Like a Hurricane” were pretty huge songs.
