As Farrotone said, sounds like a issue with your licenses, look up how to perform a xbox 360 “license transfer” and they should all work, I have customs working with RB DLC of all ages and forms (exports/dlc/rbn etc) with no issue.

That was it. I thought you just had to re-download everything, but after doing the license transfer and THEN re-downloading, everything worked perfectly. Thank you all very much!

Yeah, when you buy something on Xbox Live it gets signed to your console, if you’ve replaced console that signature won’t match and you’ll not be able to play the content, a transfer fixes all that luckily

^{Once Xbox live comes up and tells you to download Update 5 tell it NO, at that point you will be knocked off of Xbox live.}

^{No need for a new profile. You can’t play custom songs on Xbox live. Most of us have more than 1 usb thumb drive.}

^{Format both thumb drives in your Xbox 360 first !}

 

^{Move Update #5 from Xbox 360 hard drive also copying song cache, audio/video settings and your saved game files onto usb thumb drive by itself .}

 

^{Get a second usb thumb drive to keep Update #4 and custom songs on, you will need to copy your song cache, audio/video settings and your saved game files from RB3 xbox hard drive to this 2nd thumb drive also.}

^{Then when you want to play online or a few of your RB3 DLC songs that’s not showing up plug in thumb drive with update #5 in to xbox.}

^{Plug in thumb drive with update #4 and custom songs to play custom’s and most DLC content ( If DLC is not showing up, you need to redownload the licences )}

i was the same this time two years ago, the community had been around for about a year and i only just found out about it, was like id found the mother load, it still is a sweet community one of the best and worst kept secrets alive. You try explaining it to other people theyre like oh cool or what ever. Then they ask me have you got rock band 4 yet and I’m like yes but i have so much more content on this to play that its easy to forget RB4. I know in some ways its kind of horrible for harmonix because this site has opened the flood gates as it were so any future release from harmonix wont have the same impact as it did. Sort of like this community has killed their sales but in a way the game industry and rival games did it to themselves by over-saturating the market with too many games or in harmonix case stopping DLC. If they would have carried on with DLC no matter how small every week they would of had a stronger position than they are in now. In a way they’ve killed their own franchise. But this community has kept it strong and if anything supported official releases.

Eh, It’s the other way around in my experience, RB4 whenever a song that interests us is released, but RB3 and customs the rest of the time.

 

I just hosted a 5 hour long harmony session using C3 customs on RB3 even, customs probably leaves RB3 as one of the best party games ever.

I too would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this customs community and especially the excellent authors who remain dedicated to keeping this going week after week. I had never played Rock Band in any form until maybe 6mos ago and randomly stumbled into the customs world about two months ago…I just couldn’t believe it. I’ve already started trying to learn to how to author my own full band customs (not easy if not you’re not familiar haha). My girlfriend and I and all of my friends are in awe of this body of work which has created the ultimate musical party game. Every time we rock out now, a good part of the fun we have is your doing. Thank you so very much!

I remember when I discovered the site in 2013. Rock Band was all but dead with no more DLC, someone mentioned customs on the RB forum no less and google got me here via the instruction video on youtube. I downloaded a really bad custom of I’m on a boat haha so poorly done but the fact I imported it and it was playing a custom blew my mind.

 

I had high standards for the customs I didn’t want a guitar expert only tracks which seems to be floating around the interwebs but then I found c3 and well… well the rest is history, RB has been a regular thing every Saturday. every birthday, every new years eve, hell every party since.

This! So many people have been to my RB parties and there people who can’t be bothered with it “Oh that Guitar Hero game thing?” and then they see their favourite song, have a few drinks, they are hooked and you can’t get them off the mic haha

That’s what I do also K-mac

I have 1 for FB songs, 1 for Non full band songs & 1 for keyboard & vocals only….. lol

After about 5,000 songs it gets tough to keep them all organized.

Rush, when you do this does it update your song library each time you boot up with a different usb? Also do you lose all the scoring saves etc from the previous usb?

 

I want to do same thing with full band and non full band !
