I am authoring a new song that has the usual 4/4 signature at the start of the song … as the lead guitar ‘intro’s.
However, on the 6th measure.. 2 beats in, everything ‘comes in’ marking the start the song .
So, the tempo map is now effectively 2 beats out such that the start of each measure now occurs mid-way through each verse.
I am unsure how to correct the tempo map from 6.3 onwards….unless I subtract these 2 beats and start the whole song from measure 2.3 instead of the usual 3.1….. but I’m guessing this is not the correct way to do it….????
so I have been forced to stop, before I have even begun! Hoping this is easily solvable…?….
Thanks
Make your life easy, just change the 6th measure to 6/4. Then, the downbeat of 7 will hit when it should.
Most people don’t notice the time signatures, and scoring wise it only effects overdrive really (which should not be a huge deal 6 measures in). Just change the 6th to 6/4, and then the 7th back to 4/4 (or whatever the rest of the song is in)
Do you have a youtube link to the song you can post (or PM me if you want it kept a secret) and I’ll check quick that you’re doing it right?
If the song is in 4/4, then you stay in 4/4. If you’re sure the “intro” is the intro, then put that at 4.1 and have the intro guitars start at 3.3 or whatever it would be. Don’t mess with time signatures to fudge things. Do it right the first time.
I fixed it up for him. His audio file was cut at the beginning, which causes his map to start/feel weird.
