Hey guys, the song I’m working on right now has sections where it goes from 4/4 time to 2/4 time in some parts during the middle. Now, I have the sheet music with where these changes take place but whenever I try to do the time signature change in Reaper, it jumps a measure. For instance I just map measure 154, measure 155 is 2/4. I’ll get the tempo put in place but instead of going to 155:1:00 it goes to 156:1:00. Is there something wrong on my part?

Check previous time signature markers, something has gone wrong.

I have checked my other markers. It even a starts with the first 2/4 that goes in after 4.5 minutes of the song being 4/4. It’s really strange. I was even thinking about possibly doing it just in 4/4 the whole way through.

You can post the RPP if you want but chances are that one of your markers is off and is screwing up things.

This has been discussed before. You just need to watch out for it when changing time signatures. If you’re not precisely at a measure boundary, it’ll create another measure that’s a couple hundredths of a second.

You would think that by now Cockos would have fixed that.

Or maybe they did but we’re stuck with old versions for RB3 purposes?

That’s really strange. I seem to have the problem only on particular spots. if I go a little ahead, but on beat with the song, and throw the 2/4 in it just keeps going like it normally should. I’ve never really had this problem before.
