I am starting to author but due to my lack of experience I can only do it by ear.

    I am currently working on:

From Ashes To New – Downfall

Escape the Fate – Picture Perfect

    Hollywood Undead – Bullet

    I Prevail – Blank Space

    Beartooth – Body Bag

    What I have finished

    None dammit

It is tiring and frustrating doing these for hours by ear. Any tips? I could certainly use them.

yea go to ultimate guitar and see if theres any guitar pro tabfor these songs download it then go to web tab player upload the the gp file and download the midi of it then import the midi into fl studio and start charting. other then that if your doing it by ear pay close attention to the pitch which will be hard….

I paid for Guitar Pro software, and use that. Don’t know about web tab player and fl studio, but, in GP Pro, this trick helps immensely:

      (1) Isolate each track (like the drum track)

      (2) Export that track to a .wav file.

      (3) Export that track to a .midi file.

Now use Reaper to make a chart of those only – use the midi file to help you chart (and to set up a tempo map), and use the audio file so you can check each note by ear.

Be careful with tabs, they don’t usually include all sorts of minor variations, fills, etc. that the studio recording do and are never entirely reliable, so be sure to adjust the chart to fit the real song afterwards

i agree most of the time tabs are inaccurate especially drums for some reason however its a good starting point to get you in the right direction

I really hope you didn’t give up on this… I’d love to be able to play Bullet! It’s by far my favourite Hollywood Undead song.

If you want help with programming vocals, lemme know and I’ll give it a shot. I’ve watched the video on how to do it but haven’t actually tried it yet, but meh… figured I’d throw it out there just in case I can pitch in somehow. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

From Ashes to New’s new album would be fun as hell on drums. Good luck with getting downfall charted!
